On her blog, she describes herself as five-foot-six and "slim shady."

Without a photograph, my Dear, I'm afraid I shall have to gently let you down....

Thanks, papi.

Mmm... Wonder if she'd mind if I took the wife along.

I wonder if women would have some choice words for a 40-year old guy looking for "Between 28 and 46 years of age. Easy on the eye." Just saying... double standards abound.

She is cute.

I am surprised with a 50 person team, that this chef does not charge more. He flew them all in from Copenhagen, unless he told them to get there themselves as NerdGirl is doing.

What, really? "No more than six years older than me, but still old enough to qualify as a legit adult, and at least somewhat attractive, with decent table manners," seems like reasonable "perfect date" standards for any gender. She's not fugly, she's successful and presentable, and she is offering access to an exclusive dining opportunity (and picking up the tab).

If it had read, "At least a decade younger than me, preferably two, at least a 9 out of 10, all other qualities irrelevant," that would be another thing.

Very generous of her to pick up the Restaurant tab ....

Flights & accommodation is still in the poor guy from the San Francisco area.

"easy on the eye" = must be good looking, ugly to average people need not apply no matter how great a person you might be otherwise.

Weak.

Living in Japan and incapable to have social life ? Not my type.

I found my wife simply by discussing at a party, magic moment. I would be Japanese, I would feel offended for such behaviour...

@JapanGal: At that set price, and 44 customers per day for 36 days, the gross take is about 102.8 million yen, or about US$ 875,000. If he split it evenly between the 50, they'd get $17,500 each for the month. Figure half for expenses and their getting $8,750 for a month of solid work. Not great, but not bad. Probably more for promotion than the money.

Flying all the way to Tokyo for a dinner date is environmentally unconscionable.....

Have to agree with @kurisupisu. As a single male, I wouldn't spend upwards of ¥160,000 for a round-trip and a few nights accommodation in Tokyo, just to have dinner with a picky woman, regardless of whether she appears to be nice when I first meet her. The true person comes out after multiple encounters, in most cases. Of course, love at first sight is a different matter - but a rare one.

I don't get this chef. He is serving food made with 100% Scandinavian ingredients, sounds good to me, make people aware that you don't need exotic, out-of-season ingredients. But than he is flying half around the earth, but instead of bringing the menu with him, he spends huge time to research and learn local cuisine here in Japan, while nicely filling up his mileage account with numerous flights. And instead of using local people, who are obviously already trained in the cuisine, his is teaching his staff back in Copenhagen and brings them all over. Why? I can't all but shake my head about this playing to rich people, using this huge carbon footprint project. And than maybe even call it "local cuisine"? Sorry, no, there is some terrible mix-up there.

I feel that he is going to go out with a cute Japanese girl anyways although he is taking her.

What this person is looking for??? What is Nerd? Aboy or a girl? You can not distinguish gender now-a-days/

Is he pretending she to get male compsaniozM? Could be in SF city

Pffft no fair - when I did the same thing (before she did) and blagged requesting a bootyful date at the finest commode road show this side of Philly, all I got was a reply from an excessively large Puerto Rican man. Had a wonderful time, but still.

I'm not going to read the caption on the photo and assume the reason she doesn't have a date yet is that she looks like a man and has a beard

I'd date her. Successful, international, travel, food, quirky, not too immature, but just right.

Alas, I'm slightly too old and don't live in the correct city.
