The body of a newborn baby boy was found on Thursday afternoon in a trash bin in a women's toilet at the Japan Aviation Academy in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
According to police, the body, placed in a plastic bag, was found by a 70-year-old female cleaner around 1:30 p.m. She told police she had last cleaned the toilet on Monday. A spokesperson for the academy said the toilets are accessible by anyone from outside the academy.
Shigeo Umezawa, president of the academy said, “We haven't yet confirmed if one of our students might have been pregnant. It looks like someone gave birth to the baby in the toilet. If she couldn't afford to raise the child, she could have consulted me because I would have been willing to adopt him.”© Japan Today
