Well, now I know what will be used as a new excuse to refuse paying the NHK fees, making a joke of the whole thing and rehiring the single person that took responsibility for the fiasco is a perfect reason to say the NHK is acting wrongly and should not be supported.

So many cynical comments, but isn't this a Japanese case of All's well that ends well? All faces are saved, all bases are covered.

The fired staffer should be sent back to China where he belongs.

So, he had a one-week holiday. Pretty much standard maximum in Japan. Of course before resigning he knew through connections he would taken care of. LDP and NHK look out each other. A few bows and no questions asked.

Perhaps Sobata resigned to take responsibility for his staff members comments unscripted comments. If so, a rare and commendable action.
