it was probably a long range missile that fell short so the NK propaganda machine is calling it a short range missile. Nothing worth mentioning. Ignore the funny little man and he'll stop bothering you.

Nice seeing that external help (the country lives on mostly from aid) is being used wisely for important matters like food and health.

Setting up for more demands of aid, huh, Kimmy ol'boy?

"What have they got against the sea? They keep attacking it with missiles."

Kim is however not the first who has fought battles with the sea! See the life of the "crazy" Roman Emperor, Caligula :P

Caveman: "N.K. would test its missiles anyway, but the timing might be different."

Not arguing there, but that's part of the point -- they time it to protest threats from Japan, and it's rather an effective form of protest.

It is merely a pissing contest!

Why is this in the National news section? Somebody trying to make a statement? --Cirroc

thepro: Right verb, wrong tense. It 'imploded' years ago. Just wait until the hordes of impoverished peasants start flooding over the border. South Korea really has an almighty problem coming its way.

Hmmm, I wonder if this has anything to do with the US asking Japan for financial support in Afghanistan. Japan better pay if they want continued American protection.

More proof that bombast from Japan will only meet with bombs (or missiles, rather) from NK.

No Japanese was harmed in the making of this test.

N.K. would test its missiles anyway, but the timing might be different. Japan also tests its missiles. Everybody does. --Cirroc

Kim Jong II is 'genki' again...ne!

More proof that bombast from Japan will only meet with bombs (or missiles, rather) from NK. Time to stop with all the threats, from both nations, and get down to some serious talks. Hell... they can even talk about abduction, so long as that's not a prerequisite for Japan to sit down to talks, and so long as it's strictly kept to a bilateral forum and not the G8 meetings or 6-nations talks, etc.

All we have to do is ask China if they gave the NKoreans permission to do this. What's the big deal? - OssanULTRA

Why ask China because China dictates what the NKoreans do...hasn't anyone figured that out yet? (China took over NKorea after Russia fell apart).

I keep waiting for the day the entire North Korean economy implodes. It's gonna get pretty ugly.

rjd_jr: it's not. it's a "power" demonstration

What have they got against the sea? They keep attacking it with missiles. Maybe they're fishing in bulk. Has nobody told them bleach is much cheaper, the fish stay intact and the meat is edible?

a mindgame...

At least with a target that big they can claim a direct hit!

If true clearly yet another act of agression by this nation.
