Wow. A Japanese court rules in favor of the Japanese government against Chinese prisoners. didn't see that one coming

This really shocked me. I was sure they would tell the plaintiffs they had a great case.

Their just looking for a PAYDAY. War is War and crap happens during War.

The verdict was a foregone conclusion. File the case in a Chinese court.

Chinese denouncing Japan for forced labor ... I do not value if it's true or not, that's what the laws and judges are for, but I'm surprised, maybe they should look inside their country and realize what the communist regime does with his subjects.

Typical. Japan will never own up to its atrocities. This will never ever get tiresome for them

"In 2007, Japan's Supreme Court ruled that Chinese nationals have no right to compensation as it was renounced under a 1972 joint communique issued when diplomatic ties between the two Asian countries were normalized."

It's pretty clear why they can't let the case go forward. Nothing to see here.

Although if we've learned anything from Korea, it's file your lawsuits against Japan in your home country...

The last survivor is 95. All his mates have passed on. You think he really expects the court to rule in his favor? He knows what's up. But while he's got another breathe, he's going to make sure this stays in the spotlight... to the chagrin and shame of Japan's wartime past. This is really what it's about - keeping the spotlight on and pointing out that big ugly blotch on Japan's pristine reputation.

Yes, because that's how you make a relationship work. By continually pointing out past mistakes. No wonder no Asian countries get along.

Legally speaking, Japan has little problem to reject the case. Morally speaking, Japan is big wrong. Japanese prosperity was based on Chinese suffering. Every trillion dollars that Japan enjoys from Chinese renouncement, means trillion dollars less for Chinese people. If Chinese can sacrifice themselves for the happiness of Japanese people, why can't Japanese do the same thing to Chinese people, as Confucius teaches us to do ?

That's the only thing that matters to a court of law.

extanker, where was the court of law when the Japanese govt broke the same law to call China a threat, not a friend as define in the treaty ?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Did someone take whatever you are talking about to court? If not, there is your answer.

And China is a threat. I don't know of any "law" that says you can't call someone a threat...

And China is a threat. I don't know of any "law" that says you can't call someone a threat...

You are right, it is disturbing to see how some do not see the threat.

And it is we who feed China by buying all its products and manufacturing there.

The global power board is changing, Russia, China ... and you have them very close, too close.

You have traveled to China?

Me a couple of times ... and I do not feel free.

I can not use social networks, there are countless websites censored, in short, I think it is obvious what China is, the greatest dictatorship ever known.

The worst thing in this life is to ignore reality.

You are a Chinese who has gone to Japan to look for a better life?

I ask him cordially, it is to try to understand his position and his ideology.

Like the Korean claims and cases, its highly focused on being a smear campaign against Japan and its people organized rather than about justice. It’s laughable really given all the atrocities and forced labor during the Great Leap Forward which I am sure would be squashed severely within China. Japan is at the cusp of changing its constitution to better defend itself and this China and Korea’s to prevent and stall Japanese autonomy.

In 2007, Japan's Supreme Court ruled that Chinese nationals have no right to compensation as it was renounced under a 1972 joint communique issued when diplomatic ties between the two Asian countries were normalized.

This communique only states that the Chinese government renounces its right to seek compensation; it says nothing about individual citizens. As usual, the Japanese "justice" system wilfully fails to understand simple facts.

So what is this trend now? every Chinese or Korean association from their central governments to local movements ask to Japan compensation for WWII?

Seriously?

Japan already payed and compensated the war victims, this is honestly becoming a puppet show.

How sad to see these people still living in grief after over 70 years.

Chinese people are brainwashed by a propaganda that tells them about what Japan did in the WW II.

Japan was wrong and payed the price for it,now let's see the situation in 2019.

China is still ruling with iron fist Tibet and East Turkistan, and deported thousand of these people in concentration camps and forcing them to stop being humans.

So how about Chinese people recognize such problems that are actual and first liberate these territories and compensate the victims of such massacres that are still ongoing.

Japanese courts have repeatedly turned down similar claims from Chinese plaintiffs based on a top court decision.

Japan should do this with korea and it's begging cup for the whole comfort women thing. Don't get me wrong! I'm not saying it did or didn't happen. Its just that japan has paid billions and donated and apologized numerous times, but that begging cup keeps a'rattling every 1-2 years.
