why do any military aircraft need to fly over any populated areas during peace times ? bosozoku of the air sure do drum up public support with all that noise..

Very true...it was disgraceful of the US, JASDF, and other nation's military aircraft to fly over Tohoku after March 11th 2011 to give aid to all those people in distress...

I'd never been fearful of the Chinese, Koreans or anyone of our neighbours for that matter. Not even with all the fear popuganda in the press. But one thing I am concern about is the introduction of risk into the Japan by foriegn military presence.

“That said, it is my intent that Marine Osprey pilots will make every effort to minimize flying over heavily populated areas in Japan,” Amos said.

The statement means absolutely nothing without clear numbers, and it expects us to put our trust in the U.S. military, which has been proven to lie about and cover up information concerning the Osprey.

This is just a show. Nothing will change or be done any differently.

They won't be much good in war time if they don't practice. And they can't practice flying without flying over cities since some of the bases are in the middle of cities. And that is the real problem. The bases need to be moved someplace with plenty of open space around. I suggest the United States of America! Its a pretty nice place over-all, and the extra guns will hardly be noticed there!

These dorks better not be flying over Tokyo, one of the most populated cities on the face of the earth! The stupid helicopters already flying back and forth between Yokota and other bases here in the Kanto Plain are already loud enough, let alone having one of these wierd contraptions, Ospreys fall into a ball of fire over Tokyo!

Considering the population density of Ginowan (the city with the air base right in the middle of it) is nearly the same as Tokyo (Naha which is also close to the base is more dense than tokyo) it seems the Japanese government really only cares about flying over parts of the country with populations of Nipponjin, but could really care less about the Okinawans.

They're here for only one reason, to avoid ground combat with Chinese troops.

The Defense Department presented the results of the Morocco mishap investigation to a Japanese assessment team that visited the Pentagon this week

"Yes thank you for coming in person to receive the documents. Shame you will spend more time in the air than on the ground here in the U.S. conducting your most excellent independent analysis. Maybe you should have flyed in one of our Ospreys, ha ha."

"I'm fine thank you. We agree with your analysis. See you next time."

The Ospreys will be stationed throughout major U.S bases in Japan including Okinawa. Iwakuni is just the beginning. They're here for only one reason, to avoid ground combat with Chinese troops.
