The survey also found that among those who often or always feel lonely, the lower their income was, the lonelier people feel, with 12.5 percent saying they are unemployed.

But according to the bureau of labor statistics and economists, they are all on the look out for better jobs because the job market is so strong!

To spur more young people to receive their third shots, the government may offer a 20 percent discount or up to 2,000 yen off a ticket for events such as concerts and sports games.

How ironic. They're lamenting about being cautious when going out to "avoid a 7th wave" but then are pushing discounts for concert and sports games tickets, thereby encouraging mass gatherings. I fail to see the logic in this.

Feels lonely af. Even living with a partner, no friends nearby to talk, in Japan you don't really talk to your neighbors, family far away. Plus (in my case), my industry was tourism so... Yeah. Pretty freaking lonely.

At least the weather's really good today and that, at long last, has got me wearing sandals outside. Feels so good.

Now the virus has mutated to a weaker type and there has never been a significant risk for the young then why the restrictions?

Having had the virus (caught in Japan) I have been living with the elderly and do not wear a mask in daily life in the UK now.

I would propose that Japan is the same with many cases of immunity but the social pressure not to interact is still strong.

What types of problems will occur going forward in a Japanese society with prolonged restrictions will intensify from the current imbalance.

Normality needs to return fast...
