Painful anniversary brings more torment to N Korea abductee's mother

There is a time back in 2014 and 2015 when North Korea finally agree to return abductees that still alive, however it was rejected by Japan fearing that it will close this long standing issue. Japan really just want to make this issue persist.

"What has the Japanese government been doing all these years with North Korea snatching away the victims?" she asked.

good question. Ask the LDP. They're the ones in power for decades.

"We need somebody with a strong heart to have talks with North Korea.

Well, you're not getting that with the LDP. You'll just be trotted out just before election time to be used as a pawn for the right wing LDP agenda and when you have fulfilled your purpose, you and your cause will be put back in your box.

Same as the last 40-50 years.

Your daughter was dead, long time ago!

Make peace. Negotiate. But the abductees from the last century, must be allowed to have Japanese lessons, and the right to bring their husbands and wives, children and grandchildren with them.

Pyongyang had claimed that among the remaining 12 abductees, eight had died and the other "four" never entered the nation, but it explained "three," excluding Tanaka, never entered the country when North Korea proposed the return of the two men.

Incorrect. Abe wanted ALL the hostages back. Note that those "two" did not include the girl mentioned in this article. You don't need to be a die hard Abe fan to understand that.

""There is nothing more painful than knowing nothing at all,""

Yes indeed, a reminder to everyone of the EVIL we are dealing with in N Korea, the very same person who fired a barrage of missiles the next day 150 people were crushed to death in Soul.

This hits way too close to home as I have daughters. Then to learn of Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren further compounds the horrific nature of this atrocity. Does no one in Government, past and present administrations, have children? Families robbed of their children’s childhoods, first dates, music recitals, weddings, et cetera. This really infuriates me and makes me sick at the same time‼️

Trying to solve the issue thru diplomacy . BTW Japan got 11 people back did they not?

and failing miserably.

No Kim gave them back willingly along with Megumi's remains

about as much as I believe the J gov which is exploiting the abduction issue for political gain AND is in bed with a KOREAN church which believes Japan is INFERIOR to Korea

Having a life waiting for news of a kidnapped daughter or son is not a life, poor lady, I hope God gives you strength and you find out something soon...

Life without closure. Each day wondered if her child was still alive. What was she doing? Millions of never-ending thoughts.

After reading the top headline today, I don't think it is probable that Kim will return any abductees to Japan any time soon.

Leaders quietly work to ramp up pressure on N Korea at G20

Glad and relieved to learn Mrs. Sakie Yokota found serenity and comfort in GOD with her grievance.

Very sad, nothing more painful than the loss of a child I’m sure. Equally frustrating for this family over the years.

@elephant200, that’s quite an insensitive comment.
