Leaves a loaded gun in the conbini toilet ?

Part of his duties patrolling conbini ATMs looking for old people being scammed out of their savings, seems to me the guy was already being disciplined .

Now he should be patrolling the dustbins around the office making sure they are being emptied properly.

Incompetent much.

Shooting pistols is a fun hobby, but against the rules in Japan. Easy to forget things in a toilet. I left my backpack in one this morning and ran back to get it.

Oh boy,another officer that forget his loaded gun,best thing is to fire him and never have him touch a gun.

The last time a police officer left her gun in the toilets she was found to have also been working in the "redlight" industries as well - its gonna be interesting to read what happened here after the investigation is complete.

Guns are just something else to forget somewhere. Simply finding a gun does not mean the average Sato is going to come running out shooting...or are you implying exactly that? Everyone is civilized Japan; right?

If he is so careless with such a potentially dangerous weapon why not make him carry a water pistol or a cap gun for a year or two?

This is the 5th or 6th story like this I've heard this year. Also, it is always in a convenience store toilet.

If I was a cop, the one thing I would always remember is my gun. I could drop my handcuffs, baton, or anything else. But not my gun.

@tom, if your a tourist leaving a back pack in the toilets, well that's ok, but a so-called professional police officer leaving a loaded gun, no, no, no, that not on

I have read about a couple of these incidents as well.

Don't know if it was this year but it certainly isn't a one-off incident.

When I was a teenager, I had a summer job setting up, maintaining, and transporting ports-johns for state fairs, events, concerts, etc.

The amount of forgotten firearms and drugs we found in the Johns was enough to start a small gang.

Seriously? Again? Come on now! I think they should also issue a stapler for the police so they don't leave their guns again!

That's three times this year. It makes me wonder, what are the educational requirements to be a cop in Japan? They don't seem to be the sharpest tools in the shed.

ive done that in the past but now i always double check the big 3 when I leave a toilet. Wallet Phone keys.

Perhaps when issued with a gun & holster, the 3 should have proximity devices attached which when separated by a couple of meters sound an alarm.

Can you imagine what would have happened had a Kid found the gun and thought it was a Toy ?

I used to live in Machida, seriously its like a border town sometimes, a few years ago if i had of found this situation that gun would not have been handed in.

So imagine one more gun in the hands of some crazy people. We dont need that !

So how many elderly people are using combini ATMs on Sundays anyway? 3?

Are these officers just hanging out in random combinis waiting for elderly people to show up?

Do they assist all of the seniors who enter the store and looking for the ATM? How thoughtful of them. It's not like the store workers can't do that.

Must have hung it up on the door and opened it without realizing he left it. Still, I sort of think I would have said to myself something seems missing as I walked away. :)

That mistake is going to entail lots of paperwork.
