Police searching for missing JR Hokkaido president

Police in Sapporo are searching for the president of Hokkaido Railway Co (JR Hokkaido) who has been missing since Monday morning. NHK reported Monday night that Naotoshi Nakajima had left suicide notes in his apartment.

Nakajima has been under intense pressure since a JR Hokkaido train derailed and caught fire in a tunnel in May. More than 35 passengers suffered injuries. In July, the transport ministry ordered JR Hokkaido to improve its safety procedures.

According to NHK, Nakajima's car was found abandoned on a street in Sapporo.

As horrible and sad as it is to choose suicide as the ultimately resort....

But to choose suicide over working harder to improve safety for the sake of future passengers is beyond me...

am I the only one who thinks like this..? (-_-)

Obviously, no because there is not a single good reason as to having to choose that over the well being of anyfuture passengers is completely irresponsible and incomprehensible on all levels. That being said, I think that there should be a severe re-evaluation on what is really important, and I hope that they make the right choice.

Safety first and if that doesnt work then bugger it i'll go top myself was the mantra at JR.

He could not deal with the responsibilty he was getting paid huge amounts for and so took the easy route.

He could have been abducted by NK and the note was to throw people off.

Hope its not suicide. cuz if its suicide then i wont care. Suicide is the supreme act of a coward or selfish person or both. And for those that do it thinking they are escaping something, how do you know that you wont go to a hell where you will repeatedly relive the same situation that you are trying to escape. Anyway hope they find the guy ALIVE and he needs to get to work.

FAIL! ADMITTED fail! Hopefully he actually succeeded at what he claimed to have done and not just escaped into seclusion.
