As many people have already said here in the comments, happy birthday Princess Mako! And I only hope that the whole lack of royal family members to perform official duties problem, can be solved in the near future.

Happy Birthday Princess Mako.

@Tawkeeo

Why?

Because I am subsidizing these people, by my legal obligation to pay taxes,to attend ceremonies and sporting meets-good enough for ya?

No she was not given an option, she wanted to marry and get a life but the IHA stepped in. It's not these individuals wantonly spending tax payers money it's a government agency that holds them hostage. They have dwindling resources and need too keep what they control.

Cricky not true at all. The IHA did not step in fully. The family themselves had a lot to do with it too. She had the option as all of them do. Quit, there is a constitution for everyone and they are no exception.

I would not put a wager on there being a wedding next year. Princess Mako appears like she has the world on her shoulders. All due respects, not a participially joyous occasion.

Happy Birthday Princess Mako! Absolutely beautiful, and 28 already, where did all that time go!? I am looking forward to her wedding next year. It will be a real fabulous Royal Wedding!

This is news?

99% of what people call news is just trivia to keep people entertained and occupied. So, yes it is "news."

Taw...her hat is beautiful ?

are you telling us you can see more than her hat and...her nose ?

She was given the option to leave and denounce the Royal Family position but she chose not too,

Renounce, not denounce. Big difference.

She was given the option to leave and denounce the Royal Family position but she chose not too, who would "free" clothes, trips, maids, spending money, security...sure why not so the long story to wait is false. Doubt a marriage to that guy will ever happen.

@kurisupisu

Why are y'all obsessed with taxes all the damn time?

Anyway yes, she's very beautiful.

Not exactly thrilling news is it?

Maybe she will some expensive celebration at the taxpayers’ expense...
