Tough marriage, Not a happy one.

Their children will have normal life though.

The couple will leave the venue after distributing their prepared responses to the media's questions.

”And here’s one for you, and you, and you. Thank you!”

3 ( +9 / -6 )

Just leave them alone.

24 ( +30 / -6 )

I hope all answers are the same "None of your business"

This guy has no visible mean of support,no company will give a person,a leave of absence,my friend son ,got notice he passed the bar, Friday,he already work at the firm as non lawyer, but will be sworn to the bar on the 3rd of Nov

They will be OK.

Google Japan Emperor Networth

“his wife to be comes from one of the richest families on the planet “

Not true. The imperial family was deprived of almost all of their assets after WW2 and are now practically living on taxpayers‘a money.

Five predetermined questions. Five written answers. Now go stick it, media! We're off to New York!!!

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Geez I bet they both can't wait to escape the toxic environment they are currently in and live a more normal hopefully happy life!

Goodluck!

15 ( +17 / -2 )

Perhaps the rightful backlash from this whole drawn out affair is reasonable people are now turning against both the ‘mainstream’ and social media?:

@TrevorPeace 7:39am: Five predetermined questions. Five written answers. Now go stick it, media! We're off to New York!!!

They really want nothing to do with Japan anymore. Just get the hell out and have a happy life in a more friendly country.

13 ( +18 / -5 )

Next press conference will be in Times Square on new years eve, both looking very happy and free. Bye Felicia!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Marriage is not a life goal. It's a launch for the couple.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

They need to just go about their way and get off this island of gossipy people.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

This bizarre situation is becoming more perplexing as the ceremony approaches.

The Imperial Household Agency has seemly lost the plot.

Just issue a formal statement, then the happy couple can move on.

Instead of creating a media circus.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

What she should, but won’t (because she has too much class say).

“After 3 years of unnecessary delay due to unfounded rumor and elitist attitudes, I have married the man of my choosing.

It is confusing that I am giving up my title, and indeed the separation funds to which I am entitled, and yet members of the general public and unelected officials still seem to think that they have the right to approve or disapprove of my choice.

Mr. Komoro is a fine man and has stuck with me through years of interference Not many would. This reinforces my belief that I have chosen well my partner in life

Sadly I can see that Japan has a long ways to go in how it treats women. Therefore my husband and I will move to the United States as private citizens. I would like to remind members of the press that in the United States, dogging non-public figures and shoving microphones in their faces can be construed as intentional infliction of emotional distress and can be subject to substantial civil penalties.”

(Drops mic, kisses new husband on the lips open-mouthed, gives everyone in the room including Daddy the double-bird and walks out head held high.)

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Complex post-traumatic stress disorder?

Oh, yeah. Sure. I believe her. Sure, I do.

-21 ( +3 / -24 )

Go ahead.

Ask me ANYTHING you want.

As long as it’s one of these 5 questions.

This will be the most staged interview in history.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Wishing them both a stress free and happy marriage, far away from the media circus that has been plaguing their happiness.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

I am NOT really a fan of Kings and Queens, I believe we were all born equal, and if you think your are above the very same people that made you a king or a Queen!? then you should depart.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

I was just wondering if they had to sign a non disclosure contract? Hopefully none of the IHA brains trust thought of that! I’m actually interested (embarrassing) in her fashion choices after freedom, will it still be 1950 style? I know that’s so wrong, but I am curious. Ahhhh been here tooo long.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

That completely defeats the point of having a press conference, which I completely approve.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

@Yrall: Why are you on this guys case so much? Its VERY well documented that his Bar results are not expected yet and he has a job. As for the Immigration aspect - you clearly don't understand E class Visas or sponsorship.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Seem like a fine couple. Maybe they can provide an example to a certain British prince who also chose to marry a commoner and abandon the trappings of royalty how it's done. Hint, it doesn't involve making a living by feeding gossip media and writing tell-all memoirs about one's own family.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

Press officers and public relations spokespeople asking journalists to send questions in advance? May be a trend these days.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That's a hell of a responsibility on Komuro Kei's shoulders...he's basically got to support her for life. She's burned all her bridges. Best he can hope for is that she gets her own career in NYC and salary so she isn't always dependent on him.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

was shocked to learn some of the questions included false information being presented as truth

That’s the way things are in the real world.

Mako-chan would get along nicely with Mr Carlos Ghosn methinks!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

@Ego Sum: No different to a lot of marriages then. She does have a little personal worth - estimated anywhere between $3-5 million. Really don't get the hate/resentment/ bad will towards them here. She declined the normal lump sum, has not performed any of the normal rites associated with leaving the Royal Family and still you go after her! I hope the first thing she does tomorrow with her new status is to apply for a passport straight away and get the out of here. Poor woman.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Not to worry. Daddy's got money.

BTW, when are they on Oprah???

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Saw the touching moment. Princess Kako hugs Princess Mako farewell.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

very excited for her... she can do anything she wants now... maybe she can find something that excites her and start a career!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Not true. The imperial family was deprived of almost all of their assets after WW2 and are now practically living on taxpayers‘a money.

First part ..... Doubtful

Second part...... True.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Since no one cares, don't even bother writing the answers. What a tawdry little story.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This bizarre situation is becoming more perplexing as the ceremony approaches.

The Imperial Household Agency has seemly lost the plot.

Just issue a formal statement, then the happy couple can move on.

Instead of creating a media circus.

Princess Kako's patents obviously do not want their daughter to marry Kei Komura, so they use the oldest trick in the book, create a media circus to try to divide and conquer.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Doesn’t she know how to speak? What an absolute joke. Written answers? Come on guys! Just weak.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

First time in her life the Princess made a choice that both will go through a real life, really challenging but this is it, far beyond what others (Public commoners and JP Press) have to say. Wish them all the Best!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Once they've gone back to the US, they'll be largely forgotten in the Japanese press.

Then we can count on the Daily Mail to give us riveting photo updates about them being observed picking their noses or buying booze in a bodega.

Good for her. She deserves all the respect and privacy a young women should have. She made her decision so leave her alone. arigatou.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

BTW, when are they on Oprah???

I understand she is booked to chat with Oprah the day after the Emperor's sister, the former Nori-no-miya, now Mrs Sayako Kuroda, has her interview.

In other words, never.

Unlike trashy Brit royals, J-royals still have some class and decorum. So the answer is she'll never be on stupid American TV shows.
