Radioactive groundwater under Fukushima plant nears sea

It seems people THINK this is a very very small problem, but i beg to differ, there are still TONS of highly radioactive goo still cooking that has already burned through the bottom containment housing of said reactors, Mark I reactor diagrams should be plastered on everyone's foreheads so they would truly know what is going on and how dire the situation is. THIS is not over, Its just begun, may your god help you humans

Cut the delay of information tactics. In other words it has already contaminated the Pacific Ocean and has done so for some time now. Then again best not to cause panic.

I guess it is impossible to measure the water going in and then coming out due to evaporation?? So just how do they know how much water is leaking out?? Just thinking out loud

Japan is afraid to let the world know how bad the situation is. It will mean that people will not buy products from Japan. The problem is that there are real dangers. Face towel, How much area is needed to stock contaminated water. At the rate they are contaminating water it will take the ocean to contain it and that will not be enough. Nuclear reactors are a very serious thing as the contamination lasts for hundreds of thousands of years. Japan will not do what is necessary to solve the problem out of pride. If Japan asks for help, how can Abe sell Japan's nuclear safety? Soon we will have mutant ninja turtles

How much area is needed to stock contaminated water? Is it dangeous for us to live in north-east Japan? Or Japan? How serious those groundwater and sea water have influence for us? We lack a clear view.

Yes, as the weather gets colder, you will really see the heat (as steam) coming from the plant and the world will be shocked.They will actually see how negligent Tepco has actually been. It is sad these people decided to pollute the northern hemisphere to save a few million dollars, please worry now humans.

When local system of ground water become contaminated, it will be a real national catastrophe.

The Pacific Ocean has a volume of around 7,241,760,000,000,000,000 liters. If it is unlikely that contaminated water ican be stopped leaking into the ocean, so they perhaps mixing things up would dilute its effects. Don't know how ocean currents and mixing works but perhaps all will be cleansed by the ocean?

TEPCO probably should not be criticized so severely, because nuclear power plants had to have Govt. approval. It is just a case of extreme greed winning over extreme caution.Whatever happens is just the story of "Life and the consequences of birth on planet Earth Prison". Eventually, contaminated water must be thrown into the ocean and diluted. There is no other solution. Today's science cannnot neutralized radio active materials and cannot confine the radio active materials permanently.

So, TEPCO hasn't provided the details scientists need to fully assess the situation. What does this tell you? It tells you they are concealing a lot more than they want to expose. Clearly, they have no solid plan on how to deal with this and they are just trying to cover their tracks. They should be jailed!!!

I think the reactor is simply overreacting like TEPCO. I think the reactor should simply accept TEPCO's deeply sincere appology and stop trying to capture attention of busy people and accept the coomon belief of most people that it is simply not there problem so why should they care? I think it is sad that our children chidrens children and so will think differently. What right do any of us have to leave this and or other future nuclear problems to future generations? Ok I know theanswe, everyone with power is to tied up sharing the Olympic dream.

So now, all of us living in Japan, are sitting on a "time-bomb"...

In a country with so many earthquakes and tsunami, its obvious that if you go nuclear, you should pay a bit more for thorium and not build four times more plants than you actually need.

One would think that Japan, having been the only country in the world to experience widespread radiation sickness, would take all this more seriously.

According to the latest news, the Mitsubishi Group is considering to assist in the Fukushima (radioactive groundwater) crisis.

Nuclear power in the end is not any cheaper than conventional fossil fuels. Will have to reassess whether I will continue eating fish from Japan.

The looming crisis is potentially far greater than ....

Remove potentially and you get the real actual situation!
