Although its dangerous to have an open season on accusations and not be able to defend yourself, I think that many many more women have suffered in silence.

If it means that fewer women have to endure this and that those who do have an outlet to get justice and compensation, its good.

Nothing will come from this.

Especially with someone like Noda supposedly working for the women of Japan.

Noda, 57, recalling her experience as a 30-year-old candidate. "Comments like, 'If you want a vote, let me touch your breasts,' were a daily occurrence."

Daily?!!!

So many signs in English (only two in Japanese in the picture). Someone is bound to say that this movement is just another insidious foreign influence.

Noda, Fushishima, and Ando are hardly liked by Japanese women and men.

Someone is bound to say that one of the unintended consequences of #metoo is that perverts will likely continue on as usual, but decent men who are completely terrified of false accusations (whether a real or imagined threat) will take steps to ensure the security of their own livelihoods by shutting women out of their workplace unless it's absolutely unavoidable. Some might even claim that they've already seen this happen in their own workplace.

Don’t get too excited ladies. It will be short-lived. A leopard cannot change its spots and the male dominated Japanese society will not change just because of a few old fellas repenting their sexist misconduct.

The message should be, treat others with respect and in the same way you would like to be treated. The women in the story seem to be working towards that goal. The protesters in picture however, appear to be virtue signaling back to the foreign audience from which they received the slogans they are using.

Good for them.

Once again, counters the usual stereotypes of the meek and timid Japanese person, afraid to stand out against the grain and speak out in public on controversial issues.

Although mainly about women, at the same time it’s so much about men as well. It has to be addressed collectively. Around the world in general and in Japan in particular.

When you jump on this Band Wagon, get ready for less guys asking you out ladies.

Funny thing is I've seen women say the same to women. "Wow your breasts are huge. Can I touch them?" I heard quite often from Japanese women to western women. Plus the insidious obsession with weight, which is often the first comment people are greeted with in Japan. Body size, breast size, it's all the under same umbrella. It needs a hard look at how people comment on others and actually should mind their own business.

Do you honestly think there are any women who read this page who care one whit what any of us posting on this story think about it? Do you actually think there are any women out there who want any of the guys who are offended by this trend to ask them out?

No.

Do YOU think this sort of "Movement" will ONLY have an affect on "Guys that would OFFEND" in the FIRST place?

No.

The bad guys will continue being bad. The good guys who care about their reputation and social standing will back off approaching women for fear of being accused of harassment.

Gee, what a coincidence, the same posters who actively try to undermine every story about women being sexually harassed or assaulted are desperately want everyone to believe if predators get punished that guys will stop seeking girls. Even though in the entire history of human relationships, that has never happened once.

You've got this wrong. The guys who are good with women, will continue to be good with women. The guys who aren't, will use this as an excuse upon which to blame their lack of ability to pick up women.

The guys that are bad will continue being paid, they're not swayed by slogans and placards.

But they won’t get the girls.

The guys that are good, who actually care about their standing in the community and how others perceive them, will be constantly second guessing themselves about whether the girl they want to approach is going to cry harassment if he tries to ask her out.

Why would they do that when they know they are good enough with girls that they are able to get girls without harassing or abusing them?

I’m out of the game, but if something ever does happen that I end up back into it, I’ll go right back to picking up women as I always did. If you aren’t harassing or asaaulting girls you have nothing to worry about. It’s only those that aren’t good at picking up women and may cross the line due to their inabilities that have anything to worry about. Well, those and the rapists.

Might work for a 40 year old with 20 years of experience, but all the young guys have to go through all the awkward mistakes to getting their footing with chicks but now they're watching the news and thinking "yikes!, one tiny misstep and my life is over".

Nah, not the ones that are any good.

False rape accusations have always been a worry, but that doesn't stop the guys who are good with girls from still approaching girls without worry of false rape accusations.

The system is broken, men need reasonable leeway to pursue women, and when the line is crossed it should be met with a quick slap across the cheek, not a call to the cops.

It's like that now. Of course, if you are the type to be getting regularly slapped in the face, it's likely that you're also the type that is 'creepy' rather than 'confident', and it's a good chance that you do cross the line without realizing.

Why people here are so concerned about men getting falsely accused?

First of all, she couldn’t even bring the reporter to the court even all the evidences pointing that he did it. The taxi driver witnessed that she was almost unconscious telling him to drop off at a trian station, but the pervert insisted. Hotel camera shows that he dragged her, who can’t move by herself to the room.

If you are are man, who are so concerned, just tell everyone you are gay, it’s so easy. Single/ married women would love that as well.

As a Japanese man, I gotta say the political and justice system is messed up in our country and I m amazed to see people don’t even see the bigger picture here and are worried about men who get falsely accused.
