Sometimes we forget there isn't an app for every explanation needed. An investigation will take time. There are 3 governments as well as the military bureaucracy involved. Start thinking in years.

Condolences to the families of the victims.

Burning Bush,

Curious. Do you expect the results of a full investigation the week after any accident or incident? Other marine collisions? Plane crashes? Or just any mishap involving the U.S. military? It's only been four days. The investigation into the causes of this collision will take weeks if not months, as it should. Anything you hear/read before the Japan Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy release the findings of their official investigations will be useless speculation.

When cars collide on the streets, a few beat cops can ascertain the general circumstances within minutes.

Not always, hence why there is a whole business of accident reconstruction.

You can't honestly tell me that after all this time and with the resources available they still don't even have a general understanding of the circumstances

No one is saying that. But a 'general' understand and the whole truth are often two different things. If the current 'general' understanding is released now and then new info comes out in a few days, so the story changes, then people (like some commentors here) will scream CONSPIRACY and COVERUP.

No, I don't expect the full investigation to be issued immediately.

Yet you are here incessantly demanding information that can only be garnered from a thorough and lengthy investigation. You're clearly not a subject matter expert on maritime navigation or operations so wouldn't it be more sensible to wait for the results of the investigation to be released while refraining from postulating and spreading misinformation?

Actually the only reason that this collision occurred is that the US vessel did not monitor their surrounding like they should otherwise obviously the ship would have not stayed on a collision path, it is also obvious that US military does know, by now, the perfect reason why the ship was not monitoring, btw, the fact that somebody is or is not a tax payer is not relevant for seeking the truth.
