Thank goodness I either get out, or stay put and have a good time.

An unexpected story. It seems like only a few days ago there was a story about stations and airports being packed with people going away for New Year.

Yep! Not many employers would give people the week off. Gotta get back to your post so Japan Inc. will stay great. (roll eyes)

Took 6 hours to take a 2 hour drive to come here. We decided to leave around midnight to return home.

Coming back on a Thursday?!? Why don't they just take Fri off and get a proper break? Seems like a waste if you've bought return Shink tickets for a family ($$$) or paying highway tolls and all the other fuss of a long distance trip.

I told my clients I ain't returning til the 8th.

Sensationalism. I was on the inbound Tomei today and it was rather smooth.

For a society proud of its technical prowess, the problems associated with mass holidays seems to have eluded them. And get back to work on a Friday? That's just cruel.

The roads between Tokyo and Yokohama were empty today. Went down to Yokohama just before noon in record time. On the way back nothing but smooth sailing around 19:00.

I left Narita on 2nd of Jan around 20:00 and the airport was definitely not busy. Walked right to the airline agent, checked in and that was it.

Does the granddaughter's mother really need that mask?

Spend all your savings over New Year, or Golden Week.. save up the rest of the year to repeat. An annual "anus horibus" experience within Asia.
