Nippon Kaigi should man up. Pay the cost, doubt it as 70 year old men have a free pass in Japan.

While it's great that he has caused all this trouble for the Abes, there is no reason on earth that this crook should get away with any of his own wrongdoings. Throw the book at him!

Last month, Kagoike was summoned to parliament to give sworn testimony over the scandal, during which he repeated his earlier claim that the organization received a 1 million donation from the prime minister through his wife. Abe has denied the allegation but his public support rating has taken a dent over the scandal.

He's being thrown under the bus as quickly as possible to save the ABEs. While he is scum, no way should anyone let the PM and his wife off the hook either.

Aly Rustom - hear hear !

It does seem somewhat , that the heat has been turned down under the Abes' pan

Akie Abe should foot this bill, seeing as this school and the nationalist propaganda appears to be her pet project

Well, well, well, till a couple of months ago, the LDP masterminds, their minions and their filthy Nippon Kaigi palls were in awe of the Kagoikes. They weren’t aware such a beautiful thing was happening in Japan, i.e. little children spouting their fascist mumbo jumbo, something they don’t dare to do in public themselves. It brought tears to their eyes. But then somebody had to explain how the Kagoikes managed to get a cool 8 oku yen discount on that plot of land and the mud slinging began. How things have changed. Kagoike made Abe and his cronies look bad, so they are going to do anything in their power to dig up the dirt on this fellow and previous financial support is going to be withdrawn by putting some pressure on companies that were likely told to take it easy on Kagoike when everything was still looking rosy and who in turn are now being told to take this fellow to court. I’m sure that Abe also will send somebody to Kagoike to get that 1 million yen back that his wife gave as support, or else.

While it's great that he has caused all this trouble for the Abes

He's caused a lot of trouble for a lot of people, not just Abe. But because it's politically advantageous for people (like you) who oppose Abe, it's a good thing?

That sounds like Chris Mathews when he said that Hurricane Sandy could be good politically for Obama when he was running for re-election. Never mind how many people were negatively affected. As long as it's good politically, eh?

There is no way in hell that the guy didn't know this bill was coming due. I am willing to bet he was expecting all sorts of people to come rushing to make donations with his pro-nationalist views on education. But he is finding out that HE isn't the center of the universe. This guy is just a small pawn that Abe can afford to waste in HIS march to immortality!

Bwahahahaha! He gets the plot of land for 15% of its market value and then doesn't pay his contractors? This loon is a high-end crook! No wonder the Abe's and anyone else who has had dealings with him are ducking for cover. Maybe his mates in the government will lend him a couple of billion yen, like they did for Toshiba.

Brilliant photo.

Masahiro Imamura, Yasunori Kagoike, Shinzo and Akie Abe, birds of a feather.

Nationalism is one thing. Most people that are born in a country love it , naturally. It's their home. The type of "education" that Abe and his wife want for Japan stresses devotion to the emperor, and that Japan is somehow more important than other countries and their people. This is the same kind of stupidity that caused the downfall of Japan during WW2. The emperor of Japan is one of the most peace-loving figures in Japan and yet the people that claim to be devoted to him espouse trash that opposes him. One other thing about these types like Abe and Inada is that they want children to follow a certain type of education but they themselves don't have children. It is hard to swallow advice about how to raise your children from people who don't have any understanding about the matter themselves. Children are wonderful and should not be reciting garbage written by small-minded adults.

The more they shove him down under that bus, the more he has nothing to lose, and the more he's going to sing. So have at it.

Japan Inc. has a problem (not the first or last one)!

Honestly I read this "school" story for a while. This is just a bad joke! No point of arguing for hours!

@Educator60

Yubaru, "...Abe and Inada is that they want children to follow a certain type of education but they themselves don't have children. "

Never made the comment either way.

Could be. But he must also have been counting on the 'nyuugakukin' and school fees from the new entrants who were due to start at the school last week when it was due to open. Cancellation of the opening must have knocked a big whole in the cash flow projections.

But because it's politically advantageous for people (like you) who oppose Abe, it's a good thing?

Correct.
