Japan's show business culture is cancerous. From Johnny's to this. It stinks.

Be it the scandal in Jonny & Associates, be it that in Takarazuka, what's interesting to me is those entertainers including hugely popular ones, are managed, or living, in closed circles although their popularity or survival depends on exposure to general public. I can well imagine the harassment at Takarazuka, like Jonny's case, is an open secret in the closed community.

The report acknowledged the tight schedules and said the overtime the actress had clocked in the last month before her death reached at least 118 hours.

so is that not a serious crime? Shouldn’t responsible people be prosecuted and responsible company get a hefty fine? It would be considered as a serious crime in most countries.

"The source, meanwhile, indicated that a reinvestigation into the death of the actress, as requested by a lawyer representing the bereaved family, is unlikely to take place."

Surprise, surprise. Japan allows its honored groups and traditions to be investigated internally, so this is what you get. No law or justice, just self-preservation, deflection, and all after the initial denial. Takarazuka review should be shut down until it is thoroughly investigated by the PROPER authorities, and all the current heads fired and sued and/or imprisoned if the findings are against them.

As for this "third-party" stuff... geez, I wonder whom they'll get to form the panel.

Takarazuka, based in Hyogo Prefecture, said it was not able to confirm evidence of bullying or harassment of her when it announced a summary of an investigation report on the case last week

The report acknowledged the tight schedules and said the overtime the actress had clocked in the last month before her death reached at least 118 hours

118 hours of overtime in a month is tantamount to power harassment and management bullying
