Pig tissue already used in heart operations.

But yeah, pigs and monkeys in labs destined for death...gruesome.

Better than having humans dying. As long as the animals are treated well while alive and killed in a painless and stressless way.

It's also much better than what China does

Japan currently has around 16,000 people registered as waiting for organ donations,

If I understand correctly, Japan does not accept doners who are not blood related, and they do not accept organs from cadavers. So obvously there is going to be a very long waiting line.

There are lines even in countries where those are permitted, so in Japan it's a hopeless cause.

If pig's organs can be made to work, all the better, Worried about the pig? As you eat your ham. bacon, pork chops, tonkatsu, gyoza, tonkotsu ramen....

The Law Concerning Human Organ Transplants

was enforced in Japan on October 16, 1997, legalizing the transplantation of heart, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, and intestine from brain-dead donors.

On July 17, 2010, the revised Organ Transplant Act went into full effect, under which rules regarding organ donation after brain death were eased.

I didn't make the transplant law.

"Foreign residents are welcome and encouraged to become donors, and while the nationality of donors is neither disclosed nor recorded, there have been cases in which a foreigner died and provided organs to save the lives of others, according to Misa Ganse, director of operations at the Japan Organ Transplant Network"

Japanese in need of a transplant are seeking them in other countries.

On my health insurance card, I sign the donor part.

You can put me down for a few of these. I'll have my Sunday fry-up, then send me in for a new heart and liver.

Waste not want not.

It is a pity they don't speak about Aeson, from Carmat, which is already working.

Artificial hearts are the future.

Otherwise we'll go directly sooner or later to The Island, the movie not Japan !

It needs to be known that life can be saved this way : https://www.carmatsa.com/en/our_product/

Aeson receivers live and recover to get human heart transplantation, if not keeping it.

As the pig is not eatten, it should be okay for ones who strictly follow Kosher rules to receive implants.

I believe If my body is failing, then it is my time to die.

Everybody says they would go quietly and everyone ends up clinging on like grim... well, death.

This was used on John Wayne before he died of throat cancer.
