I would like to know the pharmacological mechanism but I bet it's better than Merck's

one more thing to help get life and business back to normal.

i wonder how they will choose which patients receive the drugs? do the elderly and those with comorbidities deserve it more than others?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

And the placebo group were informed after the study and provided additional & appropriate medical treatment for their contribution to the study?

*- **“There were no cases of symptoms worsening in the group that received the drug, while two in the group which took the placebo developed severe symptoms.” -*

Would an individual who has decided not to get vaccinated, be willing to take this medical treatment?

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Let's hope this pandemic will be over soon and we don't have to worry about anything anymore.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Really, ‘investment’ advice from those that continually vacillate on various issues?

*- Feb 8: @ExpotentialWitness 8:03am: “This is GREAT news! Glad I invested in this at an early stage!” -*

*Feb 3: **“It’s way past time to ramp up mass testing”*

*Jan 27: **“Massive testing does nothing, but cause fear in the mentally weak.”*

Good news for the people of Japan.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Golden new another reason no need to get vaccinated. A pill is all you need. Thanks Shionogi san

Would an individual who has decided not to get vaccinated, be willing to take this medical treatment?

If I actually caught COVID, certainly I would take a therapeutic such as this.

Would an individual who has decided not to get vaccinated, be willing to take this medical treatment?

I bet so I’m willing to try this pill if I ever get covid which I am likely immune to

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

finally some good news?

light at the end of tunnel?

lets hope so this may end vaccination with experimental products and segregation of people!

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Perhaps some self-reflection may be needed @zichi 9:44am.- How is ‘questioning consistency’ any different from what your posing with @Blacklabel here ?

*- @zichi 9:44am: “**Blacklabel / Would an individual who has decided not to get vaccinated, be willing to take this medical treatment?*

*[If I actually caught COVID, certainly I would take a therapeutic such as this.]*

You complained about the lack of testing with the covid vaccines so what is different with this one?” -

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Vaccine you injecting weaken virus or part of its rna with other chemicals that are unknown that could cause erectile dysfunction

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

You complained about the lack of testing with the covid vaccines so what is different with this one?

that I actually would actually HAVE serious level Covid in this hypothetical situation to the point that I would need to do something about it.

As opposed to the reality that I dont have anything and you still demanding I put something into my body 3-4 times now.

In an analysis of 47 patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 symptoms...

47 patients! That's it? Studies much much larger than that never seem to be enough for cheap repurposed drugs.

In May 2020, the health ministry gave special approval to remdesivir, an anti-viral drug developed by U.S. firm Gilead Sciences Inc., three days after the company filed the application.

The oral COVID-19 drug Molnupiravir was granted special approval in December 2021, around 20 days after U.S. pharmaceutical firm Merck & Co filed the application.

Both Remdesivir and Molnupiravir are dangerous and ineffective, yet rapidly approved! I would probably trust Shionogi over these two products, but I still think it's too early. If I had Covid and these were my only choices, I would rather take the IVM I purchased online...

Well yeah I think a vaccine is permanent where a pill is temporary.

you can’t untake a vaccine but you can stop taking a pill.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

My observations @zichi 10:08am about that user’s comments today were about that user’s comments on this proposed drug to treat symptoms, not about their stance on vaccines. Testing is not the only issue that user has vacillated on. He/She posts routinely on testing, not numerous times

*- @zichi 10:08am: “snowymountainhell: [Perhaps some self-reflection may be needed @zichi 9:44am.- How is ‘questioning consistency’ any different from what your posing with @Blacklabel here *?]

“Because I did not backtrack on his archives to know his vaccine position which he posts about numerous times every day.

With Expotential Witness why did you not add his comment about him telling people to get vaccinated?

Let’t let him/her/them answer for themselves on that issue. (You may be surprised.)

A reminder of the topic here: a proposed pill from a Japanese pharmaceutical company for treatment of symptoms for those who tested positive for Covid:

*- “The drug was developed for mild-to-moderate coronavirus cases, regardless of whether patients are at risk of hospitalization. It is believed to prevent the virus from multiplying in the body.” *

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

When it comes to poisons and foreign bodies of a dubious nature, ingesting them via the stomach is a little less risky than mainlining them into your bloodstream.

Correction to @10:50am:

“…*not*** numerous times every day.**”

And

“*Let’s let him…” *

The Osaka-based firm has confirmed the drug is also effective against the Omicron variant of the virus.

good job to have such results for a new virus strain that only started two months ago. I hope is also works the new recent Omicron-B2, which was recognized a few weeks ago

The results of "Phase 2a" clinical trials of the drug known as S-217622 are "extremely good,"

Shouldn't you be a little more specific? Like with an efficacy percentage? Sounds very unscientific, and not very trustworthy.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

What happened to all the other therapeutics?

Thanks for your concern

All the best to ya Elvis! Hope you don’t end up with heart issues because of the vaccines and boosters.

I asked a simple question. No need to loss your cool.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Oxy- I know two blokes who have ED from Covid and zero from the vaccine.

just to let you know.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

47 patients! That's it? Studies much much larger than that never seem to be enough for cheap repurposed drugs.

That is because the drugs you keep pushing for use failed to demonstrate a posive effect no matter at what time they are used or on how many patients, making a study larger do not mean something useless will show any evidence of effect, if anything the opposite is much more likely.

Both Remdesivir and Molnupiravir are dangerous and ineffective

Both drugs have an advantage over the ivermectin and HCQ (the drugs you keep considering "effective" and safe) and that is showing better results than placebo (and much safer to use in some of the vulnerable population like patients with heart problems).

There are millions and millions of unvaccinated who have not died.

And there are millions and millions of people that have been shot with a gun and survived, according to you this would make gunshots safe? your argument makes no sense. Produce data that can contradict the scientific consensus that vaccines reduce the risk even for healthy young people and you would have an argument, without that data you are just promoting disinformation.

Vaccine you injecting weaken virus or part of its rna with other chemicals that are unknown that could cause erectile dysfunction

It is not the vaccine the one correlated with erectile dysfunction, on the contrary not being vaccinated is the one that is correlated with higher incidence.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34931145/

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Democrats should promote this drug and let's see what the "conservatives" and "nationalists" will say.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Why don’t you produce data that shows all these healthy unvaccinated are dying? You can’t because it’s not happening.

Sorry but you a nameless person without any argument saying the experts of the world are all wrong is not convincing at all.

https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/coronavirus-and-covid-19-younger-adults-are-at-risk-too

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-57840825

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-03-11/covid-19-risk-healthy-young-person

Now, can you prove your point by providing data that shows unvaccinated people having the same risk as vaccinated people? no? then that means you have nothing to defend your personal mistaken opinion.

And no, pretenind people to believe you that every single institution of science and medicine in the world is controlled in a world wide conspiracy is not believable either, specially because you present zero evidence of it.

Also, sorry if you fail to understand how having dozens of serious cases instead of hundreds or thousands work very nicele as a proof of the value of the vaccines, but the rest of the world see their value without problem.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

You read some of those stories and as long as you read the full story you find out these individuals actually had a underlying health issue

Then prove it, show that all the references provide are false, not just say it.

You post data from left leaning sources and John Hopkins just came out and said the lockdowns were unnecessary.

Data showing the vaccines being safe and effective comes from all over the world, there is no "left" in evidence, again do you have data to disprove the scientists of the world? even one institution of science or medicine that support your mistaken opinion? because if not, that means it is you alone against the world scientific and medical consensus.

Also, trying to run away from the arguments that prove you wrong and attacking the people using them is a very transparent way to avoid accepting you have no arguments on your own, it is irrelevant who says that the data disproves you, as long as you can't produce data supporting your position you are still mistaken.

Can you provide a quote were I (or anybody else) have said no children have been harmed by vaccines?

obviously not, because that is just a false argument product from your imagination, nobody has said such thing, the real argument is that vaccines reduce the risk for children, and that is also something that doctors and scientists coincide against you.

Are the side effects of this pill more severe than that of the jabs which don't prevent infection or transmission. One jab, two jabs, three jabs and pills.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Well done Japan for approving early intervention drugs while many other nations are criminally discouraging, suppressing and criticizing such drugs. Such countries are giving patients NOTHING unless they require hospitalization. Madness. Again, well done Japan.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Sorry healthy unvaccinated people are by far more safe from Covid or it’s variants.

That makes things very clear. With all variables out there, the above statement really does not have any credibility at all.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

We have a drug for CoVid19 so the pandemic is over. Enough with the lockdowns and protocols. People are fatigued with the CoVid19 day after day after day. Sadly, this is their endgame to establish a one world economy and govt. Good thing for the Christians, they will be raptured before the false messiah will rule the world.

Temyong, sorry bro wrong website. Next Joe Rogain podcast isn’t on until tomorrow.

We've had good early treatments for Covid19 since mid 2020...

We've had good early treatments for Covid19 since mid 2020...

The ones you keep promoting (ivermectin and HCQ) are not "good" since they only increase the risk for the patients without providing any benefit according to the best available science. Shionogi's drug may be still effective and safe depending on the results of the trials so it has a huge advantage over those that have already been examined and found inneffective.

Well done Japan for approving early intervention drugs while many other nations are criminally discouraging, suppressing and criticizing such drugs. Such countries are giving patients NOTHING unless they require hospitalization. Madness. Again, well done Japan.

No country is doing such a thing, what the world is doing is collaborating and examining the candidates for treatment and eliminating those that show no benefit, there is no benefit in giving to patients drugs that will not benefit them and since every drug comes with risks that means putting the patients in unnecessary danger. Giving ineffective drugs is much worse than not giving them anything instead.

Exponential Witness, if you invested before Covid it has gained about 700yen a share. Not bad, but I measure my gains in g wagons, not gyudons.

KetoCoffee:

How many vaccines require more than one shot?

Lots of routine childhood vaccinations require two, three, or even four shots. You just don't remember because you were a wee tot for most of them. Many adult vaccines have multiple doses too - like hep a and b and rabies.

Multiple doses of a vaccine is routine and common. Don't just take my word for it. Ask your GP. Or look at your own childhood vaccination record. Or look at your Japanese spouse's or friend's boshi teccho.

Whether you get vaccinated for covid-19 or not, I hope you will be safe and healthy.

The early approval system that allows the skipping of the final stage of clinical trials by drug companies - this information is a bit concerning.

Rushing to approve its safety before the safety trials are completed.

A certain level of safety and efficiency has been confirmed.

Do you trust the drug companies ?
