The clinic will charge around 70,000 yen ($449) for one course of artificial insemination to cover testing, storage and other fees.

So along with losing anonymity, no mention of how much the donors will be paid?

For people of exceptional genetic inheritance intellectually and physically, but little means, not mentioning any names, it could help them get through college etc.

A free market needs incentivization right?

Ito said she has told her children using picture books that a "kind person" helped in their births.

I wonder what kind of picture books are available for that.

The payment is unlikely to cover more tne one or two college textbooks.

Full credit to anyone willing to do this. I'd be too scared of future changes to the law and/or stalking to have my name out there as the biological father of a stranger's child.

This is a sinful act of epic proportions.

Why? We are in Japan. Don’t force your beliefs on others.

This is a sinful act of epic proportions.

Why? The Lord will provide.

A child has a right to a relationship with the two people who brought him or her into this world. This disenfranchises children.

Let alone the probable increase in IVF procedures which constantly exterminate unborn human beings.

The baby would not be a stranger’s child. He or she would be your child.

Exactly. The further evisceration of human rights. The destruction of innocent human lives. Outright destruction or destruction during embryonic research.

The ones who survive will agonize over having been sold and bought.

Sinful? Smells of Christianity.

Irrelevant to the vast, vast majority of Japanese. It will very, very probably stay that way.

A good thing.

No, that is not a right that is listed in any list of rights.

I don't think merchandising humans is OK.

For example with Ito : just go and meet men you deem correct and have sex.

Otherwise, so many children to adopt.

Those frozen sperms, ovules and embryos are leading to huge issues, like after divorce fighting about their future or having hundreds or more kids from one guy, and so on. Lottery of life is existing to have among others avoidance of gene defects spreading.

And Japanese should speak about having sex as a bright thing instead of hiding/shaming it.
