Cute little fella.

But is the door so opened to kindergarten, that anyone can enter there during children classes?

Surely someone had thought to some more security for those small children.

What if a mentally disturbed individual would just freely entered there??

I don't get it the prevention method here is to put a net up to cover the cubbyholes. What are they doing to prevent the giant disease carrying rat from entering the building. I can understand the shoes are exchanged for cleanness for the children while in class but what about the germs the weasel is carrying and bringing in? No mention of trapping the weasel and moving it further away. Perhaps the weasel was a pet and has been set free and the previous owner gave it shoes to play with as the article suggested that owners gave their pets toys to play with.

Although the stolen shoes were never found, the remaining shoes are now safe at the kindergarten with nets installed over the cubbyholes.

イタチ-chan will probably be the new school mascot.

“Japanese customarily take their shoes off before entering homes.” I’m never quite sure why this is seen as somehow ‘unique’ to Japan. It’s the custom in my country, too. Nobody wants mud on their carpet.

Anyone spotting a weasal wearing slippers please report the incident to the local police.

there is a way to capture this weasel, it involves a non lethal cage, will they capture it and take it for a ride many miles away? or another way is to lift up the shoe store off the ground, but high enough for the kids still to stow there shoes. or they could put a plastic flap over the front of the shoe box. I wonder what the school will do.
