Strange that they reported this one yesterday but not the one a day earlier centered on Amami Oshima, a little further down the chain. Luck of the draw, or is Tanegashima considered more 'Japan' than Oshima further south?

Do earthquakes follow islands, or are they random events under the sea, only registered on the bits people are living on?

Anyway, hoping everyone is all right. I have fond memories of the friendly people during my visit there. The local Shochu was almost odorless and won me over to a drink that I could never previously get my taste buds around.
