A supermarket employee was injured after a car plowed through the entrance of a supermarket in Yaita City, Tochigi Prefecture, on Friday.
Police said the incident occurred at around 12:50 p.m. The car, driven by an 81-year-old man, crashed through the glass doors, Fuji TV reported. About 20 customers were in the store at the time, but only the employee, a man in his 40s, sustained injuries, police said.
The driver was quoted by police as saying he was about to park his car when he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.© Japan Today
