Thank you Taiwan! It's heartwarming to see friends helping out! I hope the money gets put to good use helping those who need it the most!

Bless Taiwan!

Japan likely has no better friend than Taiwan.

Thank you Taiwan!

No surprise there.

Taiwan has always helped out Japan when needed, with zero political nonsense and bickering involved.

Very kind of Taiwan!

感謝台湾

Hope the money really arrives at the places where needed and is not being pocketed by some greedy official.

Where will the money go? In the past donated money has disappeared. Transparity would as welcome as accountability for this wonderful gift.

USA is always number 1 friend and ally, Taiwan now number 2.

US is more like a business partner. US is only as good as what they can offer in protection and trade.

Taiwan is a true friend. Both countries have a mutual respect and admiration for each other. No one here will ever forget what Taiwan did after the 3/11 earthquake and tsunami.

Let's hope that they give and use it for the people who need it. Memories of where some of the Fukushima donations ended up come to mind immediately, and it wasn't for the people affected by the quake and tsunami.

How does money receive and reach to the point is what we will never ever know.

I think Japan will handle it neatly mostly unlike Nepal, the worst of all this world i.e why the poorest country.

Anyway I knew Japan and Taiwan became good friends because of popular movie Cape No. 7.

Fair play to Taiwan. Nothing malignant lurking under the surface there, unlike the, er, "friend and ally".

Let's hope the money goes to the people who need it most and is used wisely.

”The US is ONLY good for biz and protection”

Sometimes you have no idea what you got till you don’t have it anymore! Do you prefer pre 1944 Japan?

What about all the other countries Japan gives gazillions of money to in their times of need?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Thank you Taiwan our friend! Hopefully Japan is also always a friend to you.

Ganbare Japan: "USA is always number 1 friend and ally, Taiwan now number 2."

Ally, yes. Friend? Questionable. There's more a responsibility to help, and often it ends up bolstering defense agreements, etc. Taiwan's assistance comes with no strings attached, and less if any politics. Anyway, thank you, Taiwan.

It's a forlorn hope that any of it will reach those who need it. It will evaporate with no explanation, no visible trails.

Great point Johnny

Thanks Tawian, but you should put the money into your defense budget.

There is very strong correlation between Japanese suffering and Taiwanese offering.
