Temperatures forecast to be higher than average for Sept-Nov

The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued its weather forecast for the next three months, in which it predicts that temperatures will be higher than average until November.

According to the agency's predictions, high pressure systems over the Pacific are likely to result in a continuation of the hot weather that has been parching the nation in September and that warmer weather will continue in October.

However, the agency added that it expects higher-than-average rainfall throughout the country as the summer draws to a close, potentially alleviating this summer's nationwide water shortages. Humid air is expected to accumulate in northern and eastern Japan first, resulting in slightly higher rainfall than average, following which the west will also see some precipitation in September and October, the agency said.

Why don't they just come out and say that Japan is experiencing the now scientifically predictable effects of man-made global warming: higher average temperatures and greater precipitation. Or will they just keep making these announcements from now season after season, year after year?

The politicians and regulatory agencies are afraid to say what needs to be said and the media fear losing corporate sponsors, so there is no necessary public discussion of the biggest issue facing humanity. The JMA is doing a disservice to the nation.

Sadly, it'll probably be the opposite.

It's been getting worse each passing year here. Think It wise to move to a cooler place next Summer!

I wonder what this will mean for the Autumn foliage.

After this hot summer, watch for a very cold winter by December 2013. If you live in Japan, might want to invest in a decent snow shovel--if they sell those things there!

The shape of things to come?

Well THAT sucks!!!

These weather forecasters are a bunch of jokers, they have no idea what the weather's going to be beyond next week.

Am I the only one who thought we had a mild summer this year in Tokyo? I barely used the a/c this month.

"the now scientifically predictable effects of man-made global warming"

So predictable, that almost none of the global climate models were able to predict the temperature standstill of the last 10 to 15 years.

Poppler, I also thought so as well.

?...Or??? Is this the result of Neuclear Fallout ? ( more than likely, surprised I'm the first one to mention it on here )

oh really?? Then how come it is 24 outside my house in Komaki right now? My phone says tomorrow night will be 17...feels like fall is coming along like normal to me..

Poppler, I agree. I don't really understand the fuss. I think temperatures have been fairly average for Japan. But it's been more humid with lots of cloudy skies, I feel.
