Brrrr... tempted to light the stove, but if this is going to be over by the 14th I think with warm clothes this is still survivable.
A small mercy, but luckily it is still relatively warm over there in the Philippines.

Last night was colder in Tokyo, I think. I left a restaurant about 8 p.m. and there was an icy wind that just seemed to go through you. Everybody on the sidewalk was shivering because nobody thought to wear overcoats yesterday.

Breaking news: winter is cold

"winter is cold"
Heck, autumn has just set in! A few weeks ago it was still hot and humid!
Mother Nature just does what she wants.

Looks like the cycle commute season is over here in Hokkaido.

Wait for predictions of power shortages from the nuclear power plant utilities and fears of people freezing to death…they are getting desperate to re-start them.

Wish I could hibernate until the hanami season.

even before this chill, there were already people in winter coats and scarves. i couldn't believe it. what will they do when winter actually arrives?

Okinawa is nice this time of year.
Saxon Salute
From too hot to too cold didn't take long this year eh.

As far as I remember, we had no such problems last year, no shortages, no black-outs. Even during the extra hot summer, we had NO problems ! On top of everything else, this is certainly NO time to start up any of the nuclear plants - "experts" are supposed to be doing an extremely dangerous job right now - let's not make it even more dangerous !

What in Sam Hill? It went from 30C to this in 30 days... A one month autumn (by many standards)!

Confirmation that Japan has 4 seasons.
sillygirl
@SimondB - no, only two seasons. confirmation - only HOT and COLD
Jean Val-Jean
It's not cold, sillygirl; This is chilly. It's cold once the ground has hardened down to 30cm. Put on a sweater and long pants instead of a tubetop and miniskirt.
sillygirl
Hey, I like the cold. I hate the hot. I just wish autumn was a little longer than 5 minutes.
