TEPCO to pay additional compensation to nuclear evacuees

Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) officials said Tuesday that the company will pay additional compensation of up to 300,000 yen to those people who forced to evacuate from the no-go zone near the power utility's stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

TEPCO has already been paying out compensation to evacuees since April 15. The company said the additional amount, ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 yen per person, will depend on the terms and situation of each household.

My last comment got removed. Was it because of the link? Or because it was slightly off topic?

Just would like to know the house rules.

Compensation from TEPCO - seems many are seeking it now , read on another news site that the local tohoku car dealers association is seeking compensation now too as people dont want to buy used cars from this area for fear of radiation contamination. and the case for compensation will get thicker and deeper as time drags on.

The "No-go" zone should be closed for at least the next 5 years. TEPCO needs to give those affected people free housing and offer a buyout plan where they purchase the home and land in the "No-go" zone.

I'm being forced to repatriate due to unprecedented background radiation and I'm not in Fukushima. Where's MY compensation?!

About 1 months salary, for loss of income loss of house loss of community peace of mind, future health complications, Guess that is fair, worker ants are cheep. Disgusting, TEPCO, disgusting Government, dragging their feet hoping it will resolve on it's own. The sum total of their lives is compensated with this? A family train ticket and key money.
