Third-party panel investigating student's suicide disbanded after parents complain

A third-party panel set up by the Ibaraki prefectural board of education to investigate the suicide of a 15-year-old female junior high school student in November 2015 has been disbanded after the girl’s parents voiced their dissatisfaction with the outcome.

The panel’s chairman, Shirou Nakagomi, told a news conference Monday: "From our point of view, it is truly a disappointment [to have our panel disbanded]. It makes us question what we have been working toward until this point, and without a doubt, I believe each member feels resentment.”

The panel has been looking into the circumstances surrounding the suicide of Naoko Nakajima. In its preliminary conclusion, the panel claimed that there was no evidence that the girl had been bullied at school, Fuji TV reported.

Nakajima's parents have disputed the panel's findings and requested that the board of education dissolve the panel. They said their daughter left a note in which she said "I don't want to be bullied."

On more than one occasion, the parents have openly stated their dissatisfaction with the panel due to its “predominantly male members and lack of a bullying prevention specialist.”

"A third-party panel set up by the Ibaraki prefectural board of education" otherwise known as a "cover up squad". I'm sorry but no.

Hmmm.....something sounds fishy, like there is a hell of a lot more to this story than what is being reported.
