Evacuate all people from those contaminated areas and make the largest solar power feild on it. We need more clean energy.

I have never read or heard anything that makes decontamination sound plausible, much less possible. I think Tempco will end up declaring bankruptcy and the Government will back off claiming it is also bankrupt.I hope that I am wrong for the sake of the survivors

Contamination is almost like entropy: Basically one can only spread and increase it.

Only under controlled conditions can one try to remove contaminated parts from one place. However this means that the tools and containers, which are used, will be contaminated too.

Then one can clean the tools and containers with tissues, and then these become contaminated. These can be thrown into buckets and collected. When they are burned, as is standard in Japan, again the contamination is spread.

"... our life should be restored as it was before March 11,” says Mayor Baba. Good luck with that! Not going to happen, so time to think of some other solution. How about an OCCUPY TEPCO until they come across with relocation money. The Mayor needs a plan for his good people...

Elbuda Mexicano is not out of line. I actually don't know where he lives (I'm assuming "he" because of the masculine ending on Mexicano) but he's not suggesting people in his vicinity are suffering in equal measure to people in the Tohoku region. To say such a thing would be "equating." To say he himself is suffering is simply stating a fact. Many people in a large part of Japan are suffering anxiety over what to feed their children, what they are walking through on the way to school, where they may safely play. I understand the feeling. It annoys me to hear people from Nagoya or Osaka fret about such things when the only thing I am certain of is that as regards radioactive particulates, their children are safer than mine. And mine are safer than children in Gunma or Tochigi, who at least stand a chance of being safer than children in large parts of Fukushima. Wishing for justice is hardly "over the top commentary." I wish for justice, too. He may not be a native speaker of English, though his English is excellent. Shall we all write in Spanish or Japanese and evaluate each other's rhetoric? Also, Elbuda Mexicano did not use the word "infringement." Why are people quoting him with that word? We should quote what he writes instead of making things up. He's a good bloke, as far as I can tell. Lighten up.

They should camp out in front of Tepco for months just like the Wall Street Protesters around the world

I do wish the good people of Fukushima and all of us who have been hurt by the stupidity and greed of TEPCO will one day have JUSTICE!!!

To equate the 'infringements' to your life in Tokyo proper with what many people in Tohoku have had to lose and endure is completely insulting to them. Please stop with your reactionary, over the top commentary, really. Unbelievable.

Zichi, it will indeed be incredibly difficult to return to that point. The complexities of deciding compensation packages along with pushing forward the rebuild are not tasks this government appear up for -- as with most things government-related, anger at the slow moving, corrupt bureaucratic process is boiling over. May all the useless politicians reap what they sow.

How come these articles never mention who the organizers are, they just refer to them as "the organizers"... who are "they"?

Amen to that, Shaolin!

The government probably won't pay much attention to these protests as long as they remain out of (their) sight. They need to bring these 10,000 protestors right to the doorsteps of the Japanese Diet in Kudanshita if they want to create a meaningful impact.

Well said Warnerbro.

Let me assume your loved ones are safe, your career is intact and you have your home to return to at night. How can you say you are 'suffering'? People have lost more than homes, you do realize that. Parents, children, siblings, husbands and wives...let alone jobs / livelihood. No one said you aren't affected -- but could you honestly brook this argument to someone who has lost so much more than you, and not feel like a fool? Is the mental anguish of your tortured existence so terrible to bear?

We hold very, very different perspectives on burden in life.

Now there are new ammunitions to bring down the Noda cabinet and future Japanese PM!

Thank you for exemplifying exactly the attitude that is contributing to the problem. To say that no one outside of Fukushima prefecture can be suffering because of this crisis is a slippery slope. The next step is to say that those outside the evacuation zone have nothing to complain about because they didn't lose their homes. That's why, in the end, the whole "Gambaro Tohoku" campaign is round-about propaganda to support the program of non-compensation.

And it is the case that as contamination spreads that it will be soon a priority to clean up other parts of the nation such as Yokohama, Tokyo, Nagoya, Hiroshima etc. Radioactivity has shown itself to be something that doesn't stay in situ, It moves around and it will continue to move around in Japan as long as materials from contaminated sites are incinerated and trucked around Japan.

Aerial view? yeah, everything up in the air !

This may seem small by German standards, the amount of people protesting in public up in Fukushima, but hey this is a good start! I do wish the good people of Fukushima and all of us who have been hurt by the stupidity and greed of TEPCO will one day have JUSTICE!!!

and swift decontamination of their neighborhoods.

There can be NO decontamination. It is a dream. The radioactivity is continuously spewing from Fukushima Daiichi and nothing can stop it. Even if it had stopped they can never fully decontaminate any areas. The best thing they can do is to EVACUATE. It is pure insanity that this has not happened already. The only reasons this has not happened yet is because the Japanese government does not want to spend the $$ and because it will destroy their economy. In essence $$$ > people.

Is it me or is TEPCO & the J-Govt really dragging their feet?
