Three perish in Akita Pref house fire

A 71-year-old woman and two people believed to be her daughter and son-in-law died in a fire that destroyed a house in Gojome, Akita Prefecture, on Sunday morning.

According to police, a neighbor called 119 at around 4:30 a.m. to report that flames were coming from the home of Tomoko Ichinoseki.

Neighbors said Ichinoseki lived alone, but she was visited by her daughter and son-in-law, who were in their 40s, on Saturday, Fuji TV reported

The blaze, which destroyed the two-story wooden house, was extinguished at around 6 a.m.

Firefighters found the remains of three people – two near the front entrance and one in the living room – and believe they were overcome by smoke inhalation before they could get out.

RIP could be down to those horrid touyu heaters.

Probably smokers.

That house was utterly destroyed. Frightening to think about how quickly it must've spread. The two near the door - so near, but they simply couldn't make it out. Dreadful.

True, assuming that their own or someone elses' wrongdoings before the official investigation information disclosure is, if anything, unproffessional. But are we to allow the possibility of them being a decent family, who did not cross path with dishonest crooks, only to have their house burned down... because of what, nature? There is malice at large, and unless the house was stroke by a lightning bolt, someone's wrongdoing brought this upon the victims.

Assuming the worst is only a part of the daily struggle between identifying good and evil.

@ Educator60

Could also be due to any one of dozens of other possible causes. Why don’t you give it a rest and wait till we find out. Or perhaps you know these people personally and are qualified to comment at this point?

Did speculation suddenly become a crime or something? I didn't get that memo.....

@Geoff, if there was less speculation on this site, it would be a LOT more interesting to read comments.

This was an old, wooden-framed house that went up quickly no matter how it started.

If there were not speculations, all you would read on such articles are "sincere condolences". I wonde if that is what you would want, "Trevor".

No, if there were no speculations, we would read people actually discussing facts, rather than making up fantasies that have no place in the real world.

Readers, enough of this line of discussion.
