Please update with the tests numbers !!!

And so.  This is a not particularly useful or meaningful number.   Really frustrating the way the media and various governments have responded to and reported this

Why does the headline - time after time - blaze the case number across the headline like it’s some new record high when in fact it’s lower than before? Why don’t they headline it that just maybe that’s kinda good news? That is, if you feel it must be headlined at all.

Here are the Tokyo figures from yesterday, for what they're worth.

Even with limited testing, curves for positive positive rate compared to the number of people tested, the 7-day moving average for the number of new people testing positive, the number of people hospitalised and the number or people with serious symptoms appear to under control.

What would be nice to see is the number of people who have recovered.

Please update with the tests numbers !!!

Why was this thumbed down? Is someone honestly against releasing the numbers tested?

Why are so many people fixated on testing everyone. Death rates and hospitalization are still low so why waste time and money on testing people with no symptoms. Japan seems to have it under control compared to the USA.

And the number of deaths?

These headlines are getting wearisome

Japanese Abe government or some governors, to evade criticism, had avoided to value number of infected person.

but, during such political deception, heavy symptom patients and victim increasing in whole Japan unfortunately.

Incompetent Abe government is killing people by self-righteous travel campaign.

The numbers for tokyo are not that bad. You should rather look at Osaka and how the number of people who require ICU is increasing and doubled within 10 days and already surpassed the current Tokyo situation.

It is in Japanese, but the graph is easy to understand.

That also explains the increasing death rate this month.

Lol story even provides a link now to the source of data.

Easier to click that than post comment asking for this or that info

Try finding the mortality rates for Tokyo. Impossible to find. They are hidden away.

If you want to compare 2019 v 2020 death rates they are making it impossible to find the stats.

This virus got worse in Tokyo from June. Considering it takes around 2 to 3 months to kill someone, we won't see the stats until the August/ September rates are published. Which they're not.

It's good to see the numbers declining again.

“Japan seems to have it under control compared to the USA.”

Every country is under control if you are comparing to the USA.

NHK: The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has set standards for whether or not they are "severely ill", but it has been found that Tokyo and Osaka Prefecture compile the number of severely ill persons according to different standards. According to Osaka Prefecture, the criteria for judging patients who are infected with the new coronavirus and are being treated as “severe” are the wearing of ventilators, tracheal intubation, and cardiopulmonary bypass.

The critically ill patients in Osaka prefecture who meet this criterion are:

▽ on the 18th of last month, the occupancy rate of the hospital bed for severely ill patients was 2.1%

▽ As of the 1st of this month, 20 people were classified as severely ill (10.6%)

▽As of 17th of this month, 70 people were classified as severely ill (37.2%)

I agree too much focus on testing too by many commenters. Look at korea. With all their intense testing, they still got a new wave coming for a week now. In the end we just got to live with the virus. Adapt or perish. The economy isn't gonna last long anymore unless the nation start moving again instead being cripple by the virus.

Why are so many people fixated on testing everyone.

Can show us any post the so many people posted asking for everyone to be tested.?

I agree too much focus on testing too by many commenters. Look at korea. With all their intense testing, they still got a new wave coming for a week now.

It will be easier for them to contain it. The succeeded containing the first wave. test, trace and isolate is the only way to contain a pandemic, anything else will be a failure. Not testing and allowing asymptomatic carriers running around infecting others only makes matter worst.

I don't understand why some people cannot still figure this out.

Just let it run it's course. Only a small fraction will be affected by this virus. It's like a typical bad flu...
