The Tokyo metropolitan government on Thursday reported 171 new cases of the coronavirus, up eight from Wednesday. The number is the result of 5,905 tests conducted on Sept 14.
The age groups with the most cases were people in their 20s (44) and those in their 30s (34).
The tally brought Tokyo's cumulative total to 23,608.
The number of infected people in Tokyo with severe symptoms is 27, up four from Wednesday, health officials said.
Nationwide, the number of cases was 490. After Tokyo, the prefectures with the most cases were Kanagawa (65), Osaka (57), Aichi (36), Chiba (34) and Hyogo (16).
Eight coronavirus-related deaths were reported.

Actually California alone is doing 100,000 tests per day. That being said, I believe that what’s most significant in both cases is not just the quantity, but more importantly the quality. If the situation is truly not dire in Tokyo, then perhaps they actually do not need the amount that a heavily infected nation/state as Cali requires.

most 20-30s yr olds will only experience mild flu like symptoms. Let’s concentrate on keeping the elderly safe.
