Do you know how many test was conducted in the UK and how many in Japan ? It is nice to know.

Japan - UK

10/14: 25,495 - 295,690

10/15: 23,934 - 304,315

10/16: 23,031 - 312,178

10/17: 18,934 - 308,416

10/18: 8,871 - 306,893

10/19: 17,557 - 260,338

10/20: 17,934 - 279,996

As you can see the UK only tests slightly more than Japan. ;)

While more tests would give a more accurate picture of the situation in Japan, it does not necessarily mean that it would hit numbers like the UK. We also don't know how many people without symptoms are among those tested positive for either country for example (I wish every country would also report the severity of each case...). So I hope people keep such things in mind and that comparing countries just by their numbers isn't that easy. If all 614 cases in Japan had symptoms for example but only about 1,000 out of the 26,688 cases in the UK, then the UK would still do worse but not as the numbers would suggest. Of course that goes both ways and makes comparisons difficult without more detailed data.

Covid-19 data. From the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

https://stopcovid19.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/

Number of hospitalized people reported yesterday: 990.

Number of hospitalized people reported today: 944.

Difference between yesterday and today: -46

Mild-moderate and Serious symptoms data. They are already included in the total number of people hospitalized. It should also be remembered that data on severe symptoms are already reflected in the Japan Today article. And there is no need to mention them again in the comments.

Today there are only 944 people hospitalized for coronavirus in Tokyo Prefecture. The trend in the number of hospital beds continues to decline.

This is very positive news.

There were 26,688 new cases and 191 deaths in the last 24 hours in the UK. 185 new cases, with 35 "severe" and 11 deaths in Japan is barely worth the daily blow by blow reporting.

Do you know how many test was conducted in the UK and how many in Japan ? It is nice to know.

Finally again with the "weekday" load of tests, I was expecting more positives today, I really hope this goes down soon.

Should be happy or upset from this "information"?Relly dunno...

Difficult to contextualize.

Better to look at something else that's easier to.

Like the number of people who die daily, for example

P.S.

On Wednesday.

A really surprisingly small number of infections.

In my country of two million people, 6215 tests were done, 1663 infections were confirmed.

Really responsible behavior of the Japanese people.

185 is still a lot despite the low testing for whatever reasons. Just remember for every person who finally got a test had already spread that virus to someone out there like a chain reaction by the time they were finnally confirmed positive. Low testing = more spreading.

so 1 out of 30. I would actually like to know how many tests have been conducted nationally, and how many of those were positive..
