So it's only slightly below 10% today, but cases of serious illness still seem to be going up, as with deaths. I thought Suga said it would be under control by now. Didn't he give it the PM's vow?

Seems like sending suspected cases to private testing centres whose positive figures are not included in the govt national tally and a change in policy to conduct contact tracing is working out really well for the govt. The unique Japan model the world should copy. Virus would be gone in a few weeks.

And yet they are so open about this. You'd figure that they wouldn't tell anyone of it really were a conspiracy.

Ridiculously low testing and always a minimum 10% positive. Scary stuff. Imagine what the figure would be if they tested 100,000 a day as they should. To anyone who thinks it's under control: "Ya dreaming!!!!"

Definitely a conspiracy! That’s why they declared an extension of the emergency... doh!

despite the miraculous drop in numbers that no other country can replicate, (a dramatic drop in numbers simply by closing bars at 8PM) it seems the government may not believe their own numbers because they have extended the SOE

Too high still, not good

Number of cases went back up by a large margin, wonder why people are still unhappy

stuff. Imagine what the figure would be if they tested 100,000 a day as they should.

Then the positivity rate would drop significantly. The ONLY reason the rate is do high in Japan is that they only test people who are sick and showing symptoms.

Compare Japan to other countries.

Japan does not live in a void.

Japan is not the only country dealing with this. Worldwide pandemic.

Lets judge countries side by side. Then you'll realize Japan is better then most countries when it comes to Covid.

My local hospital refuses to test me, referring me to a clinic.

It is easy to skew the numbers in Japan, they are doing it right now.

Last month, Japanese authorities gave up "contact tracing to infection cluster", number of PCR test has decreased.

'the number of coronavirus-related deaths, 119' is worst in Japan.

Considering there are no recorded influenza cases and related deaths this year, how do these numbers compare? Does anyone have the figures?

So which is it? 676 or 556?

Moderator: 556.
