Triumph girls lend their support to Nadeshiko Japan

Triumph International Japan's image girls for 2012, Ayana Kaneda, 21, and model Misaki Tanabe, 21, showed the company's support this week for Nadeshiko Japan, the women's soccer World Cup-winning team, by sporting some colorful lingerie.

The bra's color is blue (same as the team's jerseys) and pink (for the fringed pink carnation or "nadeshiko"). The shorts resemble soccer shorts.

Kaneda and Tanabe said they plan to wear these bras at the London Olympics next year to encourage Nadeshiko Japan.

They should be wearing them at the men's soccer matches!

Somehow I knew, and am glad there is, a picture. Nice way to start the day. Happy 11/11/11 to you too, papigiulio, and everyone else!

The shorts are sexy, but the bras are hideous !

I like japans flag on the shorts, cute!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Nice! Why, oh Why is this not pic of the day, JT? Instead we have some LED light yawnfest, only interesting to Otaku!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"Lend their support." JT...are you making puns now? Cheeky!

The are only looking to sell more bra's they do this every month as the press love it.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I'd rather see four rising suns on their bras.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I just got one word for them, "HOT"!! They are so hot!! They should wear those close to all of the soccer matches.

And there I was thinking that I was going to read something about motorbikes - still, a good second place.

What is up with those shorts?... Oh, it must be that time of the month.

I personally didn't witness, as it happened many years ago, just heard from a friend of mine that Japan kicked up a terrible fuss for a West European country broadcasted an evening entertainment parody program where they placed the Japan flag on a white woman underwear, as it suggested that a woman just had her menopause. Also, once a maker put the Japan fag on the box of their menopause tampons product or something like that. The Japanese were outraged and protested against it as the profanation of the Japan flag.

Now, they seem to do the same, the big red blob, the Japan flag on the white silky woman underwear. Isn’t it reminiscent or suggestive of the women’s menopause the same way? Couldn’t they place it somewhere else? How colorful.

Fun to come back and read all the comments. Those shorts would go nicely with my legs too. But I would wear flip flops with them, because I have small feet with pretty polish on.

I will buy a pair for sure.

LOL, I thought girls would be embarrassed with that big red spot on their pants. Funny photo.

Those bras don't look too comfortable to play soccer with. I wouldn't anyway.

Some I think needs a bit of a reminder about women's anatomy!

Yubaru.

So true and I ain't a woman either.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Yubaru,

Whatever it is, I would find it tasteless to print out a national symbol on women's underwear by shifting it into a national flag and display it in public. They might be shorts but they rather resemble underpants, considering their textile. They could have place their national colors on a Tshirt or anywhere else with more tastes.

When a country has so little respect for her own colors, better not to expect respect from others.

I know many readers might feel irritated reading some of our critical comments, but these comments scroll down at light speed and after two days no one will remember. But these photos and this record tasteless stupidity will circulate for long and will leave its imprint in peoples memory for good.

Hrm.

And the US, UK, etc flag is not marketed worldwide on many products(some lets say which are less than flattering).

Need to do some cleaning here as we got a few of those(various countries). Hey found a bra with the US flag on it.

Knock-kneed?

Check.

Pigeontoed?

Check.

Nessie,

Well said, thanks for the laugh

Oh please. Japan hardly has a monopoly on this, I have seen plenty of Union Jack/Stars and Stripes underwear before- try Google images if you don't believe it.

You might also want to Google the word "menopause", because you're using it very wrongly.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

OK, what am I missing here? This is simply RIDICULOUS. But more importantly, this is very insulting to Nadeshiko Japan and all that this tremendous team has accomplished. You want a sexy AND empowering women's soccer picture? Check out US soccer captain Brandi Chastain in her very famous sports bra photo from 1999: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Brandi_Chastain_1999.jpg

My opinion on this issue would refer to any other countries not specifically to Japan, that's why I didn't mention Japan and wrote

When a country has so little respect for her own colors, better not to expect respect from others.

As for other countries I might mention it in another thread. Generally I wouldn't approve it and wouldn't be very happy seeing my own country's color on panties.

You might also want to Google the word "menopause", because you're using it very wrongly.

You are right, my wrong sorry, thanks for the correction. I meant period or monthly course.

One more thing, the red spot and the monthly course is not simply my association, for as I wrote in my first post it was Japan that first associated the Japan color on a pantie with that and objected any display of her colors that might create such association. And I say they were right as the Union Jack/Stars and Stripes look different on an underwear than the Japan flag a red spot on a white woman underwear. Now I don't get why they do what they didn't like yesterday. They were right yesterday and wrong today. Certainly it's just my very personal opinion.

Triumph girls lend their support

I thought that's a headline pun that only the Sunday Sport could come up with.

I dig!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Cripes folks need to take a serious chill pill, it's just a BRA for god's sakes. And a pair of matching shorts.

Two pretty females wearing their national colors, look past the covering and enjoy the entire scene!

Grow UP!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I can't decide who looks better.

Munya you are funny! But even though you got confused with the menstrual period and menopause I got your point, and by the way, that country that had to apologize to Japan with a tampon, white, with a red round bleeding stain was NORWAY ok?? Anyway these girls are cute but I completely agree with FOXIE up there in Hokkaido, no bras would really get Japan more excited about supporting their teams!!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Score! ;-)

Nice bellybuttons.

@Elbuda Mexicano

Munya you are funny!

Don't even mention, I could have been funnier if I had done it more seriously :-D

bleeding stain was NORWAY ok??

Yes, if my recollection is correct, it was long ago. I wasn't absolutely sure about Norway as there was one more slightly different case and I didn't clearly remember if it was Sweden or not, but yes, somewhere from that North .

Come on, these lovely ladies are not nearly that old.

BTW, Looking at the "red spot" on the flag I would never have considered it to be anything other than the Japanese flag. Too many overactive imaginations in this discussion.

That certainly is encouraging!

I watched this briefly on the evening news and they turned around to show writings on the back the shorts as well.

Nothing special to see here, move on

Misaki Tanabe represents the natural beauty of a japanese woman, no artificial fillers or preservatives just pure and natural.

You have to love what Japan does with the least, they maximize what they have. Nice.
