The Japanese weather people don't seem to differeniate between the criteri of typhoon and storm, at 990 Hector Pascals, it isn't a typhoon. Still, dangerous and laden with moisture. Take care.

I see AFP has bought into the weather hysteria...makes it sound like all Honshu is being inundated. And yes, by international standards it's now a tropical storm.

In Kumamoto, all schools canceled. Zero wind, almost no rain, actually kind of a nice day. Daughter sleeping in. Tomorrow will bring hellish heat and humidity.
