It is rather unusual for any major injuries or deaths to occur in Okinawa during typhoons because Okinawan's know better than to........try....to....climb.....up.....on....their......roofs!

Here in Itoman the typhoon has come and gone. No big problems as far as we can see. Some flower pots and bicycles fallen over. Actually, I found it very refreshing and exhilarating .

Yeah! It's fine now... I just came back from Motobu and it feels fine. The sky looks great too.

What I wrote in my first post was meant as a joke, but how prophetic, today in I think it was Kagoshima or maybe Oita, an 83 yr old man was blown off the roof of his house while trying to fix the roof tiles in preparation for the typhoon hitting there.

I guess wisdom does not necessarily come with age. RIP.

Yubaru...i agree.." Its a Typhoon"..lets get as close we can to swollen river....lets ride our scooter downtown when its blowing 200 ks an hour.....lets see if i can use my umbrella.....and the good ol roof tiles!!......They just dont learn!!!!!!

Two elderly in mainland and one stupid idiot in Ishigaki who was 29 I believe it was, who went swimming in the ocean with friends and is missing.
