The drill, dubbed Malabar, is an annual event between the U.S. and India, and Japan is joining it this year for the first time since 2007

Has this anual drill traditionally taken place to "close to a Japanese island chain, part of which China claims?"

If so the SDF has been twiddling their thumbs each year? . . . . while the US and Indian navy do all the work? No fair. Man up Japan. Don't man down.

I grow tired of the recalcitrant nature of these so called powerful nations, they all talk of peaceful resolutions to certain disputes but turn around to commit another provocative act.

. . . . meanwhile the MOFA are bugging the chinese ambassador to Japan for chinese navy ships sailing too close to the Senkakus.

They should man up and quit whining so much.

No. And even reading the article in full would have told you that. Google will tell you lots more.

Man up Wc626 and acknowledge a completely uninformed presumptuous statement intended purely to bash Japan. Don't man down.
