I am happy that these two have not shown any symptoms, yet it bothers me that articles like this get written and published, as it somehow, to me at least, attempts to downplay the seriousness of the virus!
Throwing in comments like;
And then saying
Makes it appear to the casual reader that this virus is a picnic! Yet these two are in the age group that this virus seems to affect the most! If either of them get pneumonia it could be a death sentence, due to their age!
Please stop with the "cutesy" stories here!
Moderator: No, these stories are important, even though they stick in the craw of Japan bashers.

People did the same thing with HIV at the beginning, calling it a "gay" disease, as an example, and with this "new" virus there is still a hell of a lot of research that needs to be done!
This is supposed to be a "feel" good story about two elderly American citizens praising the Japanese hospital system, yet embedded in the same article, are very important issues, that confuse and seem to me at least, again minimized by the couples story here!
I strongly oppose whitewashing issues like this!

I am quick to call out JT's content, but don't have issue with this article.
This couple's case is very troubling for two reasons: 1) they feel great and 2) they are still carrying the virus after two weeks. How many more asymptomatic folks are walking around, assuming they are fine, while infecting the rest of us?
If you look at the data from the Diamond Princess, among the first 531 people who tested positive, nearly half were asymptomatic.

This article is just about this couple’s experience. They have a good attitude about what must be a very scary experience.
