wait! I thought the number of infected is dropping and soon (few months tops) there'll be no virus, just right on time for Olympics. Why do we need another state of emergency then?

Apart from not being able to stop in my smoky-ass local for a nama on the way home, I didn't see any 'state-of-emergency'.

No change for me.

What'll come first to Japan? A vaccine, or a vicious covid sucker punch?

There is no change for Me and millions of other commuters who have to go everyday by full packed trains to full packed offices.

As long as the work situation don't change to Home Office, me and millions of other Tokyo Citizens don't give a s...t about an Extension or not.

Many people's Job requires to go on work site personally, but if all the others who can work from home are ALLOWED to work from home, it would be also a big help for the people who must work on site, because THEIR trains will not be so packed anymore.

Why am i not surprise anymore by these conflicts. This world is going downhill fast the last decade. Is not improving but just keep getting worse with every year. Is like we are in a swamp and just keep sinking lower and lower.

WOOOOO! They're extending this ridiculous joke of a SOE!! Wow!

Why don't they just say Japan expected to announce extension of request for bars and restaurants to close by 8pm on Tuesday?

Agree 100! Although I would add Schools close with students SFH with FULL online classes so all teachers FULL and PART TIME get their full salaries and still contribute to their students'

If you do catch this virus they tell you to go home for a week and dont go out, nothing else, no treatment, no remedy, no follow up or retest.

Happened to a person I know in their 50's,( Kanto ) they think the whole thing is a flipping J O K E, they only went to get tested because a younger member of the house showed symptoms.

Went got tested came back positive, hospital told him to go home for a week, so makes you wonder what is the real situation of this so called virus doesnt it ?

Are you awake yet ?

meanwhile many busienss' and households are crippled due to the burden being imposed by the bumbling and incompetence of the govt at every level in every country.

Not every struggling business is a bar or restuarant getting the 60,000yen daily hand out to close at 8pm, some business actually need to be able to operate to employ people so they can maintain their households.

And yeah i know its better than getting the virus you say, but is it really, when 99% of people will recover and even less will not survive, the medicine is to destroy 99% of everyone else's life ?

Or make them all rush for the vaccine ?

You have to be simple to not see through it already.

State of what? Nothing will change for me, well perhaps the only thing that will change is that the lads and I will gather at each other houses instead of our favorite yakiniku joint for another month.

@Robert Cikki

As you mentioned the SOE is working! But it is too soon to lift the order, as there is a high likelyhood of it spreading faster like before. The SOE should be extended until the numbers are manageable again, and hopefully the vaccinations are starting soon.
