Brain inflammation is associated with the virus which could cause such a problem. In other words, good luck trying to get the 44 million yen if such a thing happens to one of your family members.

A brain hemorrhage days after getting the shot. Less than conclusive, to say the least.

About two minutes after getting the second shot of Pfizer at the Disneyland parking lot, I got dizzy and my breathing was impaired. Medics on scene checked me out and recommended going to hospital. (Blood pressure shot up sky-high.) I declined. Used my inhaler a few hours later, and felt better.

The next day I went and got checked out by our personal physician. He also said a visit to the hospital would be reasonable. No, thanks.

Have talked to a number of people about their experience of getting the shots. Two neighbors who got the Moderna shots told me that they had a very uncomfortable time after getting their second shot. Meanwhile, the husband of one of them said that he had no reaction other than a sore arm.

By the way, about one in five people over here have so far gotten at least one shot, and have not heard anything about fatal side effects.

My father developed optic neuritis after the second dose of the Phizer shot. Has been on steroids, recovering. Docs said it is likely due to an undiagnosed condition, maybe MS. People need to be aware they could have undiagnosed condition and suffer consequences if the vaccine exasperates it.

Sorry to hear that.

No doubt, there won’t be any compensation from the drug company nor the hospital to aid your father’s recovery.

There are lots of people who have died after taking the flu shot, but generally had health problems. However, those cases are rarely publicized. The amount of deaths for COVID vaccine is still very low.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Therefore because there are risks, vaccines should be voluntary without punishments for those not interested.

The vaccine is voluntary, and there are no punishments for not taking it. As far as I know, even China isn't forcing it upon their people (though I wouldn't be surprised if I was proven wrong about China).

But, you aren't allowed the privileges of participating in society. Only your rights.

Which is great, as it will keep the unclean and diseased away from the rest of us.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Of course it's tough to prove vaccine connection to this death. At least the vaccine should be considered a suspect.

But there are many undisputed documented cases of vaccine injury and life threatening reactions like these ones:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/12/16/health/covid-pfizer-vaccine-allergic-reaction.amp.html

Therefore because there are risks, vaccines should be voluntary without punishments for those not interested.

For people who believe there is a link between the vaccination and the brain hemorrhage and this woman's death, how long does this link last? Three days? A month? A year? Five years?

Even if a link were found, it would be isolated and rare. Many foods we eat cause illness and death, yet most of us continue to enjoy them. Peanuts kill some people, yet we eat them. Vaccines kill far far fewer people, so why panic and avoid them? Vaccines have saved millions of lives. We were all vaccinated as children, and here we are.

Will all deaths be linked to vaccines now? If someone has a heart attack, did the vaccine cause it? If someone gets cancer, did the vaccine cause it? If someone simply dies in their sleep, did the vaccine cause it?

Vaccines do not guarantee immortality. They just prevent infections and disease.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Brain haemorrhage in Japan is very common due to several factors, but one that stands out is the high level of slat in the daily meals especially the Soy Sauce. I am not a doctor, but It is of no surprise to me to hear this lady died and it has nothing to do with the vaccine One more reason I cook or make every single one of my meals at home because I can't stand the amount of salt injected in every dish.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

My father developed optic neuritis after the second dose of the Phizer shot. Has been on steroids, recovering. Docs said it is likely due to an undiagnosed condition, maybe MS. People need to be aware they could have undiagnosed condition and suffer consequences if the vaccine exasperates it.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

People should not have to learn the hard way, that vaccines are dangerous, harmful, and destructive of human life. If not for the polio shot in 1963, I would not have developed epilepsy, and be subjected to further adverse effects of unauthorized covert human experimentation.

If only you could have given your vaccine to one of those who ended up in an iron lung due to being infected with polio.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Then it's not news about COVID or any of the vaccines, is it? It's conjecture.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Most unfortunate as to what happened to this woman, which for me personally is a wake up call, as to avoid the shot, when experiencing on-going episodes of cerebral hemmorrahaging as a result of non-consensual brain surgical experimentation in my teenage years. (1969) Most repugnant, with this lack of informed consent, people are unaware of the adverse effects such as, seizure disorder, autism, etc. Most unethical to impose an experimental chemical in breach of international law such as the Nuremberg Code. People should not have to learn the hard way, that vaccines are dangerous, harmful, and destructive of human life. If not for the polio shot in 1963, I would not have developed epilepsy, and be subjected to further adverse effects of unauthorized covert human experimentation. My heart goes out to this woman, may she rest in peace.

"there does not seem to be a link between brain hemorrhages and the coronavirus vaccine,"

Actually, there DOES seem to be a direct link -- she got the vaccine, and then had a brain hemorrhage and died.

First rule of statistics: correlation does not imply causation.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It's sad that we now accept that "anti-vaxxers" have a legitimate seat at a discussion and people have to claim to be "pro-vaxxers" to show their colors as rational humans.

A woman in her 60's had a vaccine shot and died three days later of a brain hemorrhage? This is as much news as the report from Norway that a few people with terminal illnesses also died after getting a vaccine shot.

The race to the bottom is getting closer to the end.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Sad news.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"there does not seem to be a link between brain hemorrhages and the coronavirus vaccine,"

Actually, there DOES seem to be a direct link -- she got the vaccine, and then had a brain hemorrhage and died.

That does not represent a direct link, else everything that happened after the vaccine (good and bad) would have it. Got married? link to the vaccine. Won a car in a contests? link to the vaccine. Turned up not the father of the kid he was raising? link to the vaccine.

It makes no sense.

Your next example is again the same, from before the examinations began it was already known that doctors would find much more cases of thyroid problems than usual, because usually doctors do not search actively in people without symptoms, so testing every single child was predicted to increase the apparent incidence. That was precisely the reason why the testing was extended to areas of completely different levels of exposure, so it could be compared and checked for links, no such thing was found.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27098220/

That of course do not mean there is no risk, or even that the risk is not elevated, but those specific cases found after indiscriminate screening are not linked to the radiation.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

If it is the vaccine or connected to the vaccine, her family can claim 44 million yen from the government

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"there does not seem to be a link between brain hemorrhages and the coronavirus vaccine,"

Actually, there DOES seem to be a direct link -- she got the vaccine, and then had a brain hemorrhage and died.

At any rate, this won't bode well for those already hesitant to receive the vaccine, and for good reason. Remember that "Professionals" around Fukushima's devastated nuclear plant also claim there is no link between the meltdown and radiation spewed into the air with the spike in thyroid cancer in kids in the area.

Any scientist or medical professional who says something that big pharma does not like will be attacked. Big pharma pours massive funds in research, media, and elsewhere, so there is no shortage of attack lap dogs.

This is routinely proven wrong every day, the ones that are attacked and with justification are the people that use false and misleading information to try and deceive other people into joining in their mistakes. Nothing is lost when people that willingly lie are not given a spot to do it.

Even when highly respected and cited experts are brought up in discussion, the usual comments come up about them being "disgraced"

That is not true either, there are a lot of people that have worked all their lives to improve vaccine safety and efficacy, the problem is that the only people that defend proven lies are those that profit from those lies, those that have no longer the capacity to discriminate false information and those that disgraced themselves with sloppy or unethical work so they have to latch to the community that will justify those huge problems as long as they lower themselves to defend those lies. It is not a coincidence that only people that disgraced themselves go against the scientific consensus without the necessary data to do it validly.

Studies do not need to be retracted to be wrong. The accumulated knowledge obtained from science is the one that ends up proving if someone was actually right or if his work is mistaken. Retractions are special cases where the work is not only wrong, but wrong on purpose, unethical or false. Your confusion is understandable because many antivaxxers end up producing a lot of those special cases.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

I also notice but i dont know the extent but it seems to me that many supposed authorities cited by antivaxxers are disgraced professionals of same field

The jury is out then until the ‘research’ has been concluded then?

However, I know that am very statistically significant to the people around me, just as the residents that died in the care home were to their loved ones...

It may surprise you but research can be done to conclude things we suspect to be right or wrong. There is very strong data that indicate the vaccine reaction are not specially dangerous even to patients of elevated age, but scientifically you cannot simply say they safe for them, different kinds of data are necessary to prove it.

And no, "statistically significant" has a proper meaning that make the term useful, baseless "fellings" of people around you do not make something statistically significant, and those feelings can be (and frequently are) wrong. If epidemiological data proves the incidence of problems and deaths do not change if the person is vaccinated or not then that means it would be still "statistically insignificant" even if people irrationally conclude something different.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Great journalism. No hard facts, no scientific data.

Just an elder woman died, they may or may not be related to the vaccine.

Remember when REAL news was 100% confirmed and only facts were stated?

Yeah, I don't either.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

That would be because you don't understand what it means to be statistically signficant

—————————/———————

"It may be a coincidence, but we aren't sure," Steinar Madsen, medical director of the Norwegian Medicines Agency (NOMA), told the BMJ.

"There is a possibility that these common adverse reactions, that are not dangerous in fitter, younger patients and are not unusual with vaccines, may aggravate underlying disease in the elderly," Madsen was quoted as saying

The jury is out then until the ‘research’ has been concluded then?

However, I know that am very statistically significant to the people around me, just as the residents that died in the care home were to their loved ones...

i@n: Yes - agree. A lot of the 'websites' the anti-vaxxers post sources from don't have a single currently registered medical pro contributing to their websites. They are mostly anti-everything-major in another guise. The same people crop up criticising the banking system, large retail etc, Most are Vegans, protest in the street when they COULD be working etc. Extinction Rebellion springs to mind.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Ever notice antivaxxers all have the same playbook.

If they cannot counter facts, then make the allegation that the person with the facts and clear counters points must work for big pharma!

Working for a big pharma should not only be expected but is actually a plus point because it implies competence in the field.

I also notice but i dont know the extent but it seems to me that many supposed authorities cited by antivaxxers are disgraced professionals of same field

1 ( +4 / -3 )

....but the link when anyone dies with Corona is always certain. Got to love our unbiased media.

Yes, because the media declares people dead and decides the cause of death...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

So @Matej - From being a 100% anti-vaxxer the last few weeks, you now state that you would take the Sputnik Vaccine? Who are you? Someone sitting in a basement in the Propoganda ministry in Moscow? Seriously. yes, I am aware that said Vaccine does have a good efficacy rate as I have already posted elsewhere and personally I wouldn't be against taking it, but we know that for many reasons, mostly political, not just in Japan that we will not see it here.

Vax or Anti-Vax - your choice. But please don't this into a political discussion.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Who is playing an excessively coy game, the media or the vaccine?

Statistically, the probability of getting very severe and bad side effect after vaccination is low. Take it or leave it. But do people have a choice? Probably not this time..

Pfizer Execs. : Johnson! Quick! Get me a bucket of water and a blanket so I can wash my hands of this lady's death and to cover it all up with excuses!

You mean this is actually a true story?

So the covid vaccines appear to be 48X deadlier than the influenza vaccine.

Now let's compare.

CDC: 50~64 years of age are 5 times more likely to die from covid-19.

65~84 50 times, 85~ 119 times.

Seeing most countries have mostly only vaccinated medical personnel and the elderly.

Even if (and that is a very big if) the vaccine caused any of those deaths. It is still far better than getting covid.

Also as far as every study has shown not a single case if someone dying after getting the vaccine has been confirmed to be due to the vaccine, the CDC has been able to eliminate 90% of the death as not related to the vaccine, the other 10% are still being studied.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Only for this site, i think its ok to let antivaxxers post their materials, because we have some posters around who are more than able to explains the errors and fallacies in said materials, and correct the misunderstanding of many

2 ( +6 / -4 )

So the covid vaccines appear to be 48X deadlier than the influenza vaccine.

Er no, it's not deadly at all, and neither is the flu vaccine. 48 x 0 is 0. So is any other number x 0.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

So the covid vaccines appear to be 48X deadlier than the influenza vaccine. This difference would not be expected if the deaths were not caused by the vaccines. Perhaps, this could be due to the average ages of the vaccinated people, so it would be interesting to see if this trend continues as more people get vaccinated.

Of course the difference is to be expected if the deaths were not caused by the vaccines, because the immunized population have extremely different death rates.

You could get also huge differences if you compared between Zoster vaccines (recommended to people 50yo and older) and polio vaccines (for infants). This is precisely why this comparison is not useful and obviously only brought to mislead people into making mistaken conclusions.

The real important comparison would be between vaccinated and unvaccinated populations of the same demographics, up to today there has been no comparison that found any elevated risk this way, that is the reason why it is not mentioned in antivaccination propaganda, since it proves their whole point false.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Forgive me if someone has already posted this as I gave up reading the comments about halfway through.

A friend who fell asleep inside the kotatsu had one of these hemorrhages and he described a terrible pain in his head like the worst headache imaginable.

If, as seems likely, she was from the medical community, then she will have been aware that side effects such as a headache are possible in a certain percentage of people who receive the vaccination.

Another if, but if she did not seek treatment for her subarachnoid hemorrhage, thinking that it was just a bad headache from the vaccination, then cause of death would be from not immediately seeking help, because the hemorrhage could unfortunately have been disguised under the prior vaccination warnings.

Covid-19: Norway investigates 23 deaths in frail elderly patients after vaccination.

(Pfizer deaths)

And then 10 in Germany just days later...

Seems statistically very significant to me!

Not really. 400 elderly people a week die in old peoples homes in Norway, and I don't think that even particularly factors in Covid.

Given that the vaccine was being given to the oldest and most at-risk patients first, who are also the most frail, a fair number might have been expected to die anyway from unrelated causes. It's also possible that minor side effects from any vaccine, such as a mild fever, might be enough to cause fatalities in the frailest of patients - but that doesn't mean the vaccine is inherently dangerous.

--

Even due to the first 21 days of the UK vaccination program, it was conservatively estimated that it saved between 55 and 225 lives. Given that that would have multiplied dramatically over the past few months, it seems reasonable to assume that it has saved at least several thousand lives by this point. The same would hold true in Norway or Germany. (Or Japan if it had properly started).

To put it another way, the death tolls for not having the vaccine are clearly much higher than any possible unproven unlikely risks from the vaccine.

(Pfizer deaths)

And then 10 in Germany just days later...

Seems statistically very significant to me!

That would be because you don't understand what it means to be statistically signficant.

To what expected rates are you comparing the numbers? that is the minimum amount of information required to calculate statistical significance.

If you simply take half of the information and don't include anything to compare it by definition you are not able to evaluate if it is significant or not.

... 0.1 die from this every 3 days. I wouldn't conclude anything from just this one case, but I hope they monitor all adverse reactions carefully, here in Japan and world wide.

That is what is being done in every developed country in the world for every vaccine (until now no evidence of any increase in the rates of important side effects in vaccinated people) There is no reason to think Japan would do it differently, if anything Japan is characterized for exaggerating unrelated problems, not to ignore them.

However, multiple deaths from vaccinations cannot be ignored as they have occurred in Norway, Germany, the Philippines and across the world.

They are not ignored, they are registered, compared with what would be expected from this population and found not different. People get sick and die every day, if vaccinated people do it on approximately the same numbers as non-vaccinated people then there is no problem.

Out of 35 nuns, 26 tested positive for COVID just two days after getting the vaccine.

3 died.

Exactly the reason why people should be vaccinated as soon as possible, so they will not get caught by the pandemic before developing immunity thanks to the vaccine.

If anything this strongly proves the natural infection is much more dangerous than the vaccine, thanks for proving the antivaxxers wrong.

so far just one case published ...how many are remains unpublished?

one more reason why to not accept properly untested unregistered vaccine without any guarantee from maker who is not able to take any responsibility at all.

normally it takes 10 years for approval

Is this true? It seems unlikely.

To somewhat answer my own question after looking into it.

The entire process of making a vaccine can take up to 10 years. But this includes several years of initial studies and basic research, which didn't really apply in this case. It also often includes several periods of 'down time' between different phases of trials, while waiting for funding or approval or business processes.

The main 3 phases of trials between development and regulation seem to usually last between a few months and a few years each.

This time, due to the high priority, they went directly from one stage to the next, or even ran a couple of stages in parallel.

As such, it's certainly a highly condensed schedule, but the actual total length of the 3 phase trials isn't dramatically shorter than it would usually be. It's probably on the short end, but not unbelievably so.

I have had this said to me multiple times. Which is hilarious as I don't even have University education and am a Craftsman.

Also notice most antivaxxers are from a generation that never had to suffer any of the diseases ( especially childhood ones) that vaccines today protect against or even eliminated.

4 siblings, 3 older ones most Vaccines for childhood diseases were not available, we got them all not pleasant, one of the 3 ended up with permanent hearing loss and kidney damage. The 4th sibling was born much later had all the vaccines never had any problems never had to know the pain suffering the other 3 had to ensure.

Oh and I was not the one vaccinated but I am the one with Autism, go figure.

Japan has vaccinated about 50,000 people by now (which is pathetically low). Worldwide cases of spontaneous intercerebral hemorrhage are 26 per 100,000 people per year. So statistically speaking, out of 50,000 people,

... 0.1 die from this every 3 days. I wouldn't conclude anything from just this one case, but I hope they monitor all adverse reactions carefully, here in Japan and world wide.

Many here are accusing this article of scare mongering, but a while back I was the only one complaining about an article centered on a young kid who developed diabetes 1, implying that it was triggered by Covid19. But there was no proof he ever had Covid, all we had (if I recall) was his parents having symptoms (no positive PCR) months before he was diagnosed. At least in the above article we know the woman died 3 days after getting the vaccine.

Yes back in the old days like in the 1960s and 70s even up to the end of the 20th century.

But technology and knowledge has advanced, changed, improved.

Just the speed at which information can be shared by developers today compared to before would cut development time in half.

WobotToday  Concerns are being raised in the medical community about the Pfizer vaccine:

https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n393/rr-4?s=08

This is an anti-vaxxer screed. A letter submitted by an individual, from a fringe group, with no scientific expertise, citing fabulist and batshit crazy conspiracy theories.

The so-called concerns are not an expression of the medical community - and indeed are not only disproven, but have absolutely no merit in the scientific community.

The vaccines have been proven safe. Current data and statistics, actual facts and evidence affirm that the vaccines work and are not causing any undue medical concerns.

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

I get tired of the hype, the nit picking of the antivaxxers.

It is just like other Vaccines nothing we say will change their minds because they don't listen and bend everything in to pretzels to fit their narrative.

It is like the long debunked Vaccines cause autism. The antivaxxers point to the *increase" after Vaccines became widely used.

What they don't say is that prior to the wide spread child vaccination term Autistic was rarely used, uncommon and unknown even to most medical personnel, so schizophrenic, mentally disabled, etc.. among many other were use. I know this personally as I was a child pre Vaccines and was never diagnosed autistic but was diagnosed other things. It wasn't until I was in my teens when we first heard the term Autistic and that was what I am.

Then we have the "it takes decades to develop a vaccine, this was to fast". Yes that WAS true but remember many of the vaccine today we're developed in the 1960s and 70s. We have advanced technologically in major ways.

Then there is the fact the vaccine is based on all the work on the first Corona virus and has been prepared for during the past 17 years.

So in fact it did take decades to create this Vaccine.

How surprising! Putting Chimpanzee DNA to replicate through the human bodies cells, without long term testing, what could possibly go wrong? Maybe longer arms and women’s chest hair, but apparently it 100% safe.

Did you just randomly choose words to make the comment, or do you have any source for this? because none of the vaccines (ever) are even similar to what you describe.

1 ( +12 / -11 )

Concerns are being raised in the medical community about the Pfizer vaccine:

No, not really, Age of Autism is not a representative of the medical community but of a fringe antivaxxer "all conspiracies are true"kind of community.

The "concerns" being raised have been already debunked by epidemiological data, instead of comparing the incidence of problems to the non-vaccinated population of similar background (as it should be) it compares it with the rates of people vaccinated for influenza (that includes a completely different demographic) and says the difference is "alarming". It is not, it just mean that comparing a population consisting in predominantly old people with preexisting conditions against another population including huge number of children will give you a different amount of health problems happening to them, that is hardly a surprise.

There has been no increase on the incidence of problems in the vaccinated population.

Ironic that people who wanted Covid deaths to be recognized as not related to Covid, just because patients died of existing conditions are now in a hurry to attribute these deaths to the vaccine, even though there is no proof of that.

Uneducated fear mongers are just that!!!

"Stories" like this are dangerous journalism. Without any proof of causation, stories like this will cause many readers to automatically assume a connection between the two and not get the vaccine. Nothing to worry about mRNA vaccines except https://www.mskcc.org/news/scientists-find-cancer-drivers-hiding-rna-not-dna

You did not read the original article, did you?

The discovery is about genes that get transcribed into mRNA and then into proteins that protect the cells from becoming cancerous. Sometimes the genes are fine, so they are supposed to work as usual, but when the mRNA (from those genes) is produced it ends up incomplete because something called "intronic polyadenylation", that means the proteins that protect the cells are not produced correctly and the cells become cancerous more easily.

There is no possibility that a complete foreign mRNA could ever in this, obviously it does not replace your normal mRNA, much less specifically from those anti-cancer proteins. The article is not about some mRNA producing cancer, but about how defects on the production of mRNA lower the protection against it.

In more simple terms, the article would be like describing how sometimes bulletproof vests have defects and don't protect the people from gunshots, mRNA vaccines would then be like a patch with insect repellent you can put in your clothes, having one on is not going to affect the bulletproof vests in any way.

Yes - you happily go right ahead and decline. Exactly because of headlines like this, people like you and the relentless bureaucracy in Japan, this will sway more to NOT having the vaccine and getting ALL our lives back to normal. Selfish.

Yeah, i'm good, man. Call me selfish all you like, but I just dont trust it. I can do whatever the hell I want with my body. Thanks. This covid is just so bad isnt it? People dying in the streets... 99.5% rate, worth destroying people's livelihoods and economies. Yeah, makes perfect sense! Good lord, take a look at yourselves. Wake up.

1 ( +13 / -12 )

I'm vaccinated, my kids are too. I believe vaccines are one of the greatest inventions in human history. That said, there's certainly something wrong with this one, follow your gut feeling.

Governments, big pharma and media keep pushing this on us, and whenever there's a problem they try to cover it up and label those who question them as conspiracy theorists. Wake up people!

2 ( +13 / -11 )

Man dies from cancer, three days after receiving vaccine. Man dies from heart attack three days after receiving vaccine. Man dies in automobile accident three days after receiving vaccine. Man dies from gunshot wound three days after receiving vaccine. There may be a link, but probably not, as there is no credible evidence.

Unless there is actual evidence, it is akin to tabloid journalism. Adding caveats after stating a speculative connection is essentially meaningless.

Hank Aaron:

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office on Monday confirmed Hank Aaron died of natural causes.

Anti vaxxers don't need facts to prove their bogus claims. Why give them ammunition by making this your top story?

0 ( +10 / -10 )

If somethings happens to you after the vaccine is injected it's impossible for you to prove that the chemicals in the vaccine are at fault.

How can you prove or disprove that?

With statistics and probability.

Perhaps the gallant journalists at JT could work out the statistical probability based on the numbers vaccinated so far of someone coincidentally dying within a few days of some condition or other. And then demonstrate whether or not there was anything meaningful of a woman in her 60s dying.

I rather suspect there isn't but I am keen to hear.

Pharaoh

No vaccine for me. Thx. You all go right ahead. I wonder what broad range of issues will start popping up 20 years from now... ?

I imagine something similar to what happened 20 years after the Polio vaccine or the Smallpox vaccine was introduced.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Brain hemorrhages are a risk as we get older particularly among males.

It could be conincidental or the vaccine could have played a part in her death.

Stop assuming it is the jab or not the jab that caused it coz YOU don't know and probably won't( as if they will reveal that after the autopsy).

To say it was or wasn't a factor in her death is speculative but cannot be ruled out.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Reckless

"The brain hemorrhage that is suspected as a cause is relatively common among people from their 40s to their 60s, "

I find this hard to believe.

It doesn't make it any less true.

In Japan, stroke ranks third among all causes of death, following cancer and heart disease. It accounts for 11.8% of total deaths. 26 people per 100,000 die of stroke.

People sometimes have bad reactions or allergies to certain drugs and sometimes this can be fatal but it doesn't mean that the drug itself is at fault.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Sorry I am not buying into this usual scare tactic. J media J gov J justice system. Simply not to be trusted. Just give the vaccines without trying to get your buddies extra money

Nothing to worry about mRNA vaccines except https://www.mskcc.org/news/scientists-find-cancer-drivers-hiding-rna-not-dna

"Researchers at the Sloan Kettering Institute have found that changes in an information-carrying molecule called messenger RNA can inactivate tumor-suppressing proteins and thereby promote cancer."

-5 ( +10 / -15 )

Shame on Japan Today for making this their 'Top Story'. it is course mentioned but not sensationalised on other English Language Websites.

0 ( +11 / -11 )

Until the link between the vaccine and the brain hemorrhage is proven (and right not it's not), putting this front and center is just spreading FUD and it's totally irresponsible for any Japanese media.

-1 ( +13 / -14 )

Clickbait Headline. Sadly people die every minute from such conditions. Unless there was actual irrefutable truth (which there isn't and won't be) that her death was caused entirely because of the vaccine then this shouldn't even be a Headline.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Odd how some peope are eager to blame elderly covid deaths on 'underlying conditions', yet when the vaccine is introduced those underlying conditions seem to disappear for them.

0 ( +8 / -8 )

They can say that every time.

If somethings happens to you after the vaccine is injected it's impossible for you to prove that the chemicals in the vaccine are at fault.

How can you prove or disprove that?

You spent countless hours arguing a distinction between dying with Covid or from Covid to downplay the seriousness of the pandemic.

Do you remember any of that and see why that makes your opinion on this incident a little baffling?

7 ( +12 / -5 )

No doubt, the vaccine has and will cause side effects and death has been linked to be one of them

And your irrefutable proof about this brilliant assertion of your is ?

3 ( +13 / -10 )

"The brain hemorrhage that is suspected as a cause is relatively common among people from their 40s to their 60s,

I find this hard to believe.

9 ( +14 / -5 )

I think big Pharma is still testing the vaccine on the general public instead of in the lab.

2 ( +18 / -16 )

A Japanese a woman in her 60s...

Other sites mentioned she had no pre-existing conditions. But when a vaccine is rushed out to market within a year when normally it takes 10 years for approval, then you know there are going to be casualties as a result. It's called testing, which we hear a lot about on here, don't we? The key is to have a low number of deaths and not young people dying.60s woman,a little young for Japan. In many other countries, that's old. It's all relative.

-3 ( +10 / -13 )

It was Japan's first reported death following a vaccination.

There are 100% deaths following a vaccination. That’s an undebatable truth.

How many other people died of a brain hemorrhage on Monday without the vaccine?

1 ( +13 / -12 )

Count me out.

thank you, that’ll make more shots available for those who wants it

7 ( +19 / -12 )

First COVID fearmonger reporting, now vaccine fearmonger reporting. The headline says it all

13 ( +21 / -8 )

I am not taking this shot. It has not been tested for the length of time required. Count me out.

-1 ( +20 / -21 )

Uncertainty and doubt. That’s more than enough for most people.

The media should be careful. What’s just a few clicks compared with keeping people safe. Playing with their fears in exchange for what?

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Why post stuff like this if you are uncertain? Get all of the facts, first, then inform us. Dispersing half-information causes panic, paranoia and fear. If that's your goal, then, you are succeeding. 2 pats on the back. Good job.

5 ( +15 / -10 )

They can say that every time.

If somethings happens to you after the vaccine is injected it's impossible for you to prove that the chemicals in the vaccine are at fault.

How can you prove or disprove that?

So let me get this straight. On every story about Covid deaths you immediately start harping on about how all these people were going to die anyway and they can’t prove Covid killed them, and its just a little cold, etc.

But the second you hear a single person died after getting a vaccine you are immediately sold on the vaccine being the cause of death and are incredulous that anyone would suggest otherwise?

9 ( +19 / -10 )

Typical 2plus2 equals 5 mentality , a vaccine cannot cause a blood vessel in your brain to burst oh hang on it must be all the 5G nano transmitters .

5 ( +19 / -14 )

There is no evidence to suggest Hank Aaron died from the vaccine. He was in his late 80s so could have been a variety of causes.

7 ( +18 / -11 )

Let the fear mongering start.

With news like this more and more (Japanese) people will refuse to get vaccinated.

As for me (and my family) we will go for the shot as soon as it is available.

Will let you know later whether or not I survived (sarc).

0 ( +16 / -16 )

Stroke is one of the most common causes of death and disability in people of 60.... so there is that. I get why people would be fearful of this vaccine, but seriously, what is the more likely cause of death?

1 ( +14 / -13 )

A Japanese a woman in her 60s died from a brain hemorrhage three days after receiving a Pfizer coronavirus vaccination, the health ministry said on Tuesday, adding that there may not be a link between the two

So why make a headline out of it? Tabloid media sensationalism.

18 ( +29 / -11 )

How did they define one death case was caused by vaccination in terms of time passed after vaccination .

Does their claim assumes that there must be a correlation if person vaccinated died within 2-3days from injection ?

What if this happens 4 days after vaccination ? It won't be recognized as a vaccination related ?

0 ( +8 / -8 )

brain hemorrhage

Otherwise known as the most common form of "stroke" in Japan. In the West, strokes due to blood clots are more common.

"It may be a coincidental case, but there is a need to gather more information and make an assessment in upcoming working groups."

I agree with the Minister.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

I am a pro vaxer and I will take this vaccine as soon as it is available.

Of course I know the risk of a new vaccine and I dont trust what the vaccine company or the self nominated experts are telling.

But, whenever I take a medicine or go to a medical investigation, I take a risk.

I had a big health check 3 years ago at a hospital and when I remember all the possible side effects that can happen...oh man...but I did that examination. I took the risk.

If I read the side effect explanation for some medicine I took or take...oh man...but I took that medicine. I took or take the risk.

Everyone knows, that a new vaccine has a high risk, even vaccine companies are playing down that.

But, if the vaccine is available, I will take it.

After I took it, I will wait and see for upcoming side effects.

In other words, I will take all the risks this new vaccine will bring.

4 ( +21 / -17 )

They can say that every time.

If somethings happens to you after the vaccine is injected it's impossible for you to prove that the chemicals in the vaccine are at fault.

How can you prove or disprove that?

You can begin by comparing the occurrence of problems in vaccinated / unvaccinated people.

If a million people get vaccinated and 3 get fatal brain hemorrhages, while 5 out of every million non-vaccinated people die from the same cause it is relatively easy to think the problem is unrelated to the vaccine.

What if they say that a vaccinated person won a lottery price? would it be OK with you if they begin to announce that you should get vaccinated because it makes you win?

No doubt, the vaccine has and will cause side effects and death has been linked to be one of them.

RIP.

A reference is needed for this, up until now no vaccine approved have been linked with higher death rates on the immunized people.

12 ( +30 / -18 )

You could write the exact same story with " Woman dies from brain hemorrhage days after eating eggs."

Just really bad sensationalist, fearmongering journalism.

31 ( +46 / -15 )

I would suspect this is not connected to the vaccine. Japan has vaccinated about 50,000 people by now (which is pathetically low). Worldwide cases of spontaneous intercerebral hemorrhage are 26 per 100,000 people per year. So statistically speaking, out of 50,000 people, 13 are going to die of a brain hemorrhage within the year. Of course, it could have been caused by the vaccine, but it is not unusual for 1 person to die out of 50,000 from a brain hemorrhage within some amount of time after getting the vaccine. Context is important.

Unfortunately, the media here are playing this up big time. With every little single thing that happens to anyone who gets the vaccine being reported, it's only a matter of time before they stop.

11 ( +22 / -11 )

She died with corona vaccine.

-3 ( +18 / -21 )

It’s quite a simple choice for me. Number of Covid cases worldwide vs number of Covid deaths, and compare that to the number of vaccinations worldwide vs number of vaccination deaths.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

The first recipients of the vaccine in Japan have been medical staff.

No doubt, the vaccine has and will cause side effects and death has been linked to be one of them.

RIP.

0 ( +22 / -22 )

Well, at least she didn't die from COVID, which is what it would have been put down to if she hadn't had the vaccine.

-1 ( +22 / -23 )

How can you prove or disprove that?

how can you prove her death is related to the vaccine ?

13 ( +31 / -18 )

Some people will be vaccinated and die shortly afterward from other problems.

32 ( +47 / -15 )

You can bet all the money these companies will make that they will never admit to such allegations or else people will feel hesitant to get the shot. I'm also not counting on calls for transparency if the government is backing this up, all we can hope for is a whistle blower.

-3 ( +24 / -27 )

I swear, between this article and the one from a few days ago on JT it seems like the media in Japan wants, needs, something to be wrong with this vaccine.

42 ( +63 / -21 )

First off, they wouldn't admit it if the vaccine caused the hemorrhage. Baseball great Hank Aaron died of the same thing shortly after he took the vaccine. I don't trust any of the people involved in this. Poor lady.

-12 ( +37 / -49 )

It may be a coincidental case

They can say that every time.

If somethings happens to you after the vaccine is injected it's impossible for you to prove that the chemicals in the vaccine are at fault.

How can you prove or disprove that?
