So sad. People need to reach out and talk about what they are going to do. RIP.

Faith Elizabeth Hollett.... interesting analysis on a heartbreaking event.

Oh, so multiple suicides is a good thing because it's a sure thing? How interesting! Perhaps it would have been better if one of them did have the instinct to live and stopped the rest of them as well. Perhaps!

The reason why people commit suicide in numbers and not alone is because our bodies have an immediate instinct to save itself. Bercause of the body’s instinct, someone who is suicidal might stop in the middle of the process because of their instinct to survive, even if they are mentally resolved to die. Having other people there, as a group, makes the “success” rate increase. You might notice that the “success” rate of suicides with methods that are fast and difficult to second guess (like guns, trains, falling from great heights) more often result in death than the methods where it is easier to change their mind during, such as CO2 poisoning, most other poisoning, overdose of pills, drowning, bleeding, hanging, etc.
Anyway, suicides are heart breaking and I hope this can help us all resolve to show people that we care more often than before you read this article.

There is a certain comfort in numbers I imagine.

I have a difficult time comprehending the psychology of group suicide. Outside of a cult I would assume that killing oneself would essentially be an intrinsically individual decision.
