I don't think many elderly people will be able to handle the phone app procedures. Why do elderly people need to clog up the buses and trains? They can go to their nearest clinic or hospital. Even with Amazon you still need the prescription from the doctor. Amazon is not qualified to prescribe drugs. Near all hospitals and clinics are pharmacies.

I love how a factual article like this incites uneducated readers into an Amazon bashing frenzy. I am also happy to read this. Delivery will help the elderly and unclog busses and trains filled with elderly going to get prescriptions refilled. This is a good thing. Amazon has done more good for Japan than any Japanese company ever has.

The Amazon service is very complicated. I get my three monthly scripts from my doctor. I send a copy to the pharmacy. I visit the pharmacy which is a five-minute walk to collect.
I was just issued a new Health Insurance card and told this will be the last one. No new issues from the end of the year. Have to use My Number.

It cost me 5,600 yen to get my 3 months supply of two pills a day yesterday , half to talk to the doctor ,other half for the meds .Doctor didn't say much at all and was with him less than a minute .The doctor and his pharmacy only accept cash ,why??
Peter Neil
and less than half the cost, up to 7 times less, than in the u.s.
no pharmacy benefit managers in japan. they extract about 70% of drug retail prices and add no value to the system in the u.s.

Great stuff, please support your local businesses as much as possible as I always do and if we don’t we will miss them when they’ve gone..
‘You won’t get a call from Amazon to check up in you, it’s awful how people become reliant on this online lark. The small businesses go bust and shareholders get rich while workers get exploited. It’s modern day highway robbery, PayPal, Uber etc are ways for a few to get rich at the misery of workers.

I use a local pharmacy for my post-cancer drugs. Once a week they contact me to ask if there are any drug side effects.

You do know Amazon is NOT a Japanese company, right? LOL

Yes, great advice invest in a company that uses employees as virtual slave Labour. Everything about this is wrong and it’s just a symptom of the moral decay that’s gnawing at the heart of the country.

Pro-tip: if you invest in the Nasdaq Composite, you can get even more of the nice things the US has. If you moved to the US you would get even nicer things still.
