When they allow the tourism in Japan ? They go in many country and nobody can travel to Japan .

I live in the US specifically Silicon Valley. I'd personally worry more about the crime and violent crime than COVID if visiting the US. Do your research and visit more known safer areas. The violent crime is high right now.

"Fully Vaccinated" does not mean you will not get infected... look at the U.S. President as an example for that statement in order to "Truth" verify it.

Wow amazeballs.

When did you learn this?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

but still need pay money for tests before arrival to Japan?

no way to travel as now...

If you are 3x vaccinated, then no. You don’t. If you refuse, then yes. You have to pay.

Them’s the rules and that’s your choice so don’t complain.

Go on a group tour if you can't manage on your own hahahaha

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Hahaha

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Yawn…..

Let me know when direct international flights head into places OTHER than Tokyo or Osaka, and maybe it’ll mean something.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

It would be safer for non-japanese to not come to japan since there is a high probability of them getting infected by the japanese since japan has had the highest number of cases in the world these past several weeks.

If you are basing probability on the number of cases alone then travellers can still come and lower probability by going to places with low number of cases.

Go to some other places instead of Tokyo Okinawa or Osaka, for example

So this isn't in contradiction?

Awa says US citizens and resident do not need to be vaccinated to enter the USA

Delta says Non-US citizens and residents DO need to be vaccinated.

Hahahaha

What about this

COVID-19 Testing No Longer Required for U.S. Entry as of June 12, 2022

So Australia is level 2 for Japanese people going there but a "green" for Australian's traveling to Japan? And still no real tourist visa... didn't anyone tell the government no one uses travel agencies or tours anymore.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

No iam not .

Um, yes you are

Iam a USA citizen and a Japanese resident who has traveled during the pandemic twice.

Me too.

Never vaccinated and only a negative pcr test was required for both trips.

Dude, I literally cut and pasted the latest US embassy guidance.

Nobody needs a pcr test. non-resident aliens (basically tourists) need proof of vaccination. US citizens (like you) don’t.

However if your healthy and uncompromised then there's no scientific evidence to verify if the long term effects of recieving the vaccine will negatively effect your health in the future.

Yes, exactly why everyone should be vaccinated!

As you say no scientific evidence has been found that there will be any issues to long term health. Only evidence that is it generally beneficial. Just like all the other vaccines we have taken over the years.

So...after rumors that COVID-stricken Kishida would, last evening from his recovery bunker, make it easier for foreigners to enter his own tightly-locked country...he offers more opportunities for....Japanese to unlock travel to more various foreign countries?

OK. Not quite what everyone here is waiting for, however. I do like the fact that, unlike last year, my trip back from the US this year did not require a second COVID test at Narita (or Haneda). Still, Japan as a whole continues to drag its feet on this "pandemic", the standard default approach whenever anything or anyone foreign is concerned. Where's the quid-pro-quo...never mind.

Meanwhile, petrified Japanese continue to ignore government guidance on relaxing mask use, and Japanese-sourced COVID case spreads continue to expand regardless the closed country approach- no foreign help necessary. Sigh.

OPEN UP ALREADY!!

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Good thing people can barely travel to Japan for NECESSARY reasons, since Japan is #1 in the world for new infections at present.

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

still living under the illusion that vaccines “prevent” infection I see.

Yes badly written as usual.

Vaccines do not prevent infection as most people understand well. They do help prevent it however, and they do greatly reduce the chances of death by infection.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

But neither is Awa if you read what he/she says carefully.

So this isn't in contradiction?

reiterate - there's no need to be vaccinated to travel to either the USA or to Japan if your a resident or a citizen but however a negative pcr test is required if your not vaccinated.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

So this advisory from delta is wrong?

No it's not wrong, Ian.

But neither is Awa if you read what he/she says carefully.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Or from travel.state.gov?

COVID-19 Testing No Longer Required for U.S. Entry as of June 12, 2022

> To reiterate - there's no need to be vaccinated to travel to either the USA or to Japan if your a resident or a citizen but however a negative pcr test is required if your not vaccinated.

So this advisory from delta is wrong?

COVID-19 testing is no longer required for all travelers entering or connecting through the U.S. Travelers who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are still required to complete an attestation confirming they are fully vaccinated and contact tracing will remain in place for everyone

For a country that preaches the idea of reading the air, as usual Japan lacks any self-awareness whatsoever.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

This furher proves the insanity of it all.

The insanity is despite people claiming to have moved on or trying to move on from covid it's clear covid still rules their lives and pervades their psyche.

For antivaxers it will be a concern all their lives , maybe not covid but the vaccines

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Surprised ukraine made the cut. They have a major case of Russians. I hope it isn't contagious.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Funny I thought Japan was one of the most vaccinated counties in the world like Aust and NZ yet case loads are at their highest go figure...

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

The travel alert levels aren't just about covid but pertains to overall safety and security.

Or are they?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Australia level 2 with a near prepandemic level is higher than Eukraine?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Australia and New Zealand remaining level 2?

they have a massive influenza problem which may be confused with COVID-19

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

So Africa which has had very few vaccinations and limitsd testing (and extremely low numbers of cases overall) is at level 1 and highlly vaccinated New Zealand / Taiwan/ Aust efc at level 2. This was reversed just a months ago when the world as started opening up. And none of these countries have or had any special restrictions against Japan compared to other countries.

This furher proves the insanity of it all.

2 ( +9 / -7 )

3x vaccinated travelers to Japan do not need a pcr test either as of 9/7.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

From the US Embassy web site:

As of 12:01 a.m. EDT June 12, 2022, the CDC order requiring all persons aged two and above to show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States, is rescinded.

Of note, CDC’s Order requiring proof of vaccination for non-U.S. citizen nonimmigrants to travel to the United States is still in effect.

Awa is incorrect. You do not need a pcr test to enter the US. if you are a non citizen or non resident alien (basically not a green card holder) you DO need proof of vaccination.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

I know of someone who is not vaccinated at all and went to Korea and came back to Japan and is totally fine. Not sure why she is totally fine, but her health is Aces!

-5 ( +11 / -16 )

Slowly creaking open. Usual LDP speed of the snail....

3 ( +11 / -8 )

Time to end the covid narrative, it's full speed ahead on China and/or Climate change!

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Pot calling kettle black

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Someone please tell the ministry that being fully vaccinated does not prevent infection. I would have though they knew that by now.

1 ( +18 / -17 )

Yatta Yatta!! Nihon is ozeningu uppu!! I can't wait to be able to go homu!

Well done, Little by little in the right direction, very good Japan !!..

It seems common sense is not so common in for the Land of the Rising Case Numbers.

Ohhh the drama !!!..lol !!

-10 ( +6 / -16 )

@ obladi

Nothing to do with visitors from overseas. For Japanese tourists only.

6 ( +23 / -17 )

It's the right decision. I welcome visitors from overseas.

6 ( +17 / -11 )

Japanese that are not vaccinated, cannot enter the US

-3 ( +13 / -16 )

Where is the logic in Australia and New Zealand remaining level 2? Case numbers and hospitalizations are far lower than in those newly designated a level 1.

It seems common sense is not so common in for the Land of the Rising Case Numbers.
