Same here! My city told me that next reservation will be available in November or December as they are waiting for supply from the Government! Trying to make a reservation from July when I first received my reservation ticket but unsuccessful…vaccine hesitancy is Japan is not real or extremely extremely low in comparison to other countries or just the supply is super low! Yet the media and authorities don’t talk about this and just keep saying get vaccinated get vaccinated!
Helix
But yeah, if I'm lined up for a third shot, it will be because it's good for me.
Of course its good for you! Dont wait around, get in there and get that shot.
Strangerland
Well, I won't line up if it's not good for me. It will all come down to whether the doctors recommend it.
But yeah, if I'm lined up for a third shot, it will be because it's good for me.
Strangerland
Yeah, that seems to be the conspiracy theorists current talking point.
virusrex
Any source to actually prove this or is it just a product of your imagination? I mean, you know that there are vaccines already being used that need a booster months or even years after the priming doses and they can bring even life long protection.
This makes absolutely no sense, your immune system is never worse than what it would be without vaccination, if your imaginary scenario would be real that would make the vaccines much more necessary because variants would kill unvaccinated people. In reality what you imagine is not happening.

I never really used to be pro vaccine passports before as I thought it a slippery slope towards a little bit more of a draconian society; especially here in Japan. However, now after dealing with some of the anti-VAXers’ insanity and seeing it firsthand, I am very much pro vaccine passports. Literally this thread today changed my mind

The above missives suggest that there is still confusion midst the problem of get the other half of Japan their first 2 shots. Much has depended upon conscientious administrations (like ours) and too has depended upon administrations that were less than wonderful--particularly those more involved with the Olympics than with the welfare of their people. Thus, nation will be getting their first two shots when the other half are getting their boosters.
The problem is not medication (except for a few incidents). but administration. Japan works well in in normal times but falls apart in a crisis, We've seen it again.

If it will help me, line me up.

Not a good idea, at all!

agree 100%

I already have natural immunity from having recovered from the 'rona, which according to studies coming from Israel is 13 times more powerful than vaccine induced immunity, so no shots for me, thanks! No travel, no problem!
Happy Day
US FDA advised against boosters except for 65+. They also noted increased risk of heart problems for adolescent boys.
Someone have an incentive to push vaccines in Japan?
FtGuy2017
Yes, you can! What do you think is doing a vaccine in general? It does stimulate your natural immunity system for a reaction, ignorance is really stunning.
Mr Kipling
Between January and July 1.2% of covid-19 deaths were in fully vaccinated people. That was 634 deaths. However, 13% of this number were people with compromised immune systems. The 3rd dose of vaccine greatly helps THESE people. It basically gives them the same protection as most people get with 2 doses.
The 3rd dose will be offered to the old, the obese and those with compromised immune systems.
Strangerland
I googled, couldn’t find anything to back that up.

Many are pushing for a vaccine agenda. Why ? Vaccine is not mandatory.
All this pro and anti debates make no sense.
But governments will just create more and more discrimination with the vaccine passport. The same governments that pride themselves to be against discrimination

FDA panel votes to recommend third shot for some Pfizer vaccine recipients
An advisory committee says Pfizer recipients who are at risk for severe COVID-19, including people age 65 and older, should get a third shot.
NOT EVERYONE! I would listen to the FDA before I would listen to a "Japanese Panel".
The FDA is not the global expert body. The FDA's recent approval of Aduhelm (aducanumab) , a monoclonal antibody, without definitive clinical trial results has raised concern about its objectivity. I believe its expert panel resigned.
The Japanese PMDA has a record of rigorous evaluation of data based on cost-effectiveness and clinical relevance. In a national healthcare insurance framework, clinical relevance and medical economics is the determining factor. The only weakness, in my opinion, is the inability to mix national health insurance and private insurance in Japan (this would favor the more wealthy). In any case, the FDA is not considered the final word on drugs, medical devices and IVD reagents.
virusrex
If you need to openly lie and misrepresent the opinion of experts as the opposite of what they have actually concluded it becomes very clear that your interest is not public health but to deceive people into making the same mistake you do.

I read that despite being around unvaccinated and infected people for a few days, Putin himself isn't infected.

Excellent post

Great! hope Japan follows Hawaii need vaccine to go inside all restaurants, indoor activitie, public places.
Anti vaxers they can stay home the rest of their lives. Love it!!!
Blacklabel
This will be annual shot by end of next year. Probably more than 1 shot in each year if they can get people to keep doing it.
Aly Rustom
No take the vaccine BECAUSE
if you don't and YOU get sick I don't want my tax money being wasted on you because of you refused to get the vaccine.
I don't want you using hospital space for COVID when others may NEED it for other medical reasons
I don't want more variants of COVIDEverywhere. MSNBC has been reporting on it. Here in Japan as well- its been in the news.
Just how many need to be on ventilators for you to understand that this virus is dangerous?
What is insincere is not only are you anti vax you don't even want people to vaccinate their own kids.
didou
Still thinking about the 1st jab.
Hervé L'Eisa
The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) vaccine committee has voted against a blanket authorization for booster doses of Pfizer’s Covid-19 jab. However, the panel recommended boosters for vulnerable people and the over-65s.
bob
@tinkerbell28 - May I ask when your 2nd shot was administered?
Aly Rustom
before the 3rd jab, I'd personally like to see the kids under 12 vaccinated. Now that the Delta variant is putting kids on respirators
Ingvar
Are these vaccine passports supposed to effective for as long as the vaccines?

The sooner they can begin with the vaccine passports the better.
I already have my vaccine passport
bob
@James - any comment on the fact that the clinical trials lasted a whole 90 days, included insufficient number of elderly, and the placebo group were all given the vaccine at the end of the "trial" which ruined any chance of long-term safety studies?

Hope gov can ensure all if not most of the population have gotten both shots before administering the 3rd
Im sure there's still a small population (the vulnerable) who hasn't even gotten the first shot.
bob
Interesting. The FDA findings are exactly the science I've been warning about for a year; failing efficacy and adverse events. And as always, citations.
ID like to think that you would follow my lead in following the science rather than narrative, but Im guessing that won't happen anytime soon.
Meiyouwenti
Giving people jabs of different types of vaccines sounds like a gross human experiment. None of the vaccines has gone through clinical trials yet.
Sandoval
I am wondering from what sources did you get that information? For sure from the same sources (Facebook groups) where bleach and Ivermectin are proclaimed as miracle cures and where people are blaming Bill Gates for putting 5G chips in vaccines.
Concerned Citizen
So how many booster shots will be needed in the end and what will the effects be on our bodies? These are serious considerations for every person and reasons why the vaccination must always be voluntarily without punishment.
John Noun
Well, judging by the state of the Odakyu Line this morning (beyond packed and worse than pre pandemic), we'll be needing a booster shot!
Sven Asai
So we get into a dilemma now? Up to 1000 times more adverse reactions, but also a quickly decreasing immune response of between minus 6% per to months (producer study) up to 40% down per month (Israel study) ? Well, we surely need the booster, but for how long or how many of them can we stand it and remain in the ‘game’?
bob
BREAKING: FDA panel votes against recommending a 3rd booster dose in all but 65 and over or severely sick, citing a 1000% (yes, one thousand percent) increase of adverse events in VAERS data AND questions that the shots themselves are driving the variants.
The vote was 16-2 against.

Scorpion, the FDA advisory board, voted down a Phizer booster shot, by a wide margin against, only for people 65 or,or with chronic condition

The sooner they can begin with the vaccine passports the better. But they have to wait until everyone who wants to be vaccinated, can be at their own discretion.
divinda
And yet, I and my spouse still need to wait 3 more weeks from now to early October to finally get our first shot since that was the earliest available time in our city... and we applied for it back in July.
Strangerland
I’m thankful that they made a medicine to protect against Covid. Something that didn’t exist before.
I don’t need to thank them directly, they’re getting paid.
theResident
Cases down. No place for you anti vaxxers here. cla68/Burning Bush. Haven't you noticed that vaccine uptake here is off the charts?
If we need boosters, fine.

I was reading about the number of deaths from the Vaccines...and they were compared to the number of deaths from COVID....scary!

No you can’t.

Or, you could just avoid the hassle and rely on your natural immunity if you’re healthy.
