Absolutely loved watching them in the UK, especially Masako really in her element.

Only videos, but it seemed she would excel at channeling her inner charity support worker - she'd be great in Japan meeting members of the public rather than being locked away. She looked smiling, happy, engaged.... really nice to see.

chotto_2, I agree about Masako. Look at her kissing Camila! - that's probably the last kiss she'll give for a long, long time.

Friendship and happiness is something to be cherished forever

The emperor visited Windsor Castle in a London suburb later in the day and laid flowers at the tombs of Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip.

Windsor is not a suburb of the Greater London area. Not a major issue though.

Both Camilla and Masako were born commoners and share that.

OMG the ladies are doing a cheek kiss, that is something from a Japanese

I think it's a stretch to consider Queen Camilla as born a commoner. However "commoner" might be a technical rather than emotive word

Family had houses in Kensington and Sussex, they were upper class and society people; and Queen Camilla was educated in Switzerland.

It doesn't quite conjure up being born in the front room of a Brixton terrace.

"The emperor visited Windsor Castle in a London suburb"

Windsor is a town in its own right. Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Camilla must have made an impression on Masako for that close encounter!

Godspeed their Imperial Majesties on their return to Japan.

Camilla does not come from an aristocratic family which makes her a "commoner".

We all have a bit of blue blood in us if we dig deep enough.

I want to know what Charles did to embarrass everyone. Maybe complain that the jam was too cold for his toast?

Or am I just feeding off of other peoples’ problems to avoid my own.

Glad to them traveling and having a good time after years of COVID travel ban.

It was great the visit went well for both of them, Empress Masako left a really nice impression on me, it is a pity she is not out and about in Japan mixing with people, I am sure she would love that.
