It would be nice to meet a 'Real McCoy' in religion, wouldn't it? Not just a 'pillar of the community' or an 'elder' but the real deal. I saw the funeral live on TV via satellite of Mother Teresa and the diverse audience of attendees - Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Sikh pallbearers, all reflected the respect she earned for her real piety. How many self-appointed 'bible-thumpers', 'fundamentalists', megachurch leaders, zealots, self-proclaimed prophets and such of any religion were there - zero.
That's one way you can tell.

I'd love to meet with a Pope one day, even though I've been forced out of any form of Religious association. To meet a person of strong belief and understand them is an act of enlightenment.

The Holy Father is a genuine bridge-builder. May he be blessed with good health and stamina.

He should go to America the country responsible for Hiroshima and Nagasaki and tell them how bad nukes are. Americans still don't get it.
Same with Russia, both the US and Russians have thousands of nukes on standby.
Dear Pope, you should go to those countries first if you care about Nuclear disarmament. Japan has 0 nukes.

I hope the pope will also preach the gospel about Jesus Christ. That’s his main work.

Pope has come to become a Buddhist.

Catholicism, like most Christian sects, is in the business of proselytizing.
Are you saying he doesn’t want new punters?
I’m sure the pope would disagree.
Ganbare Japan!
Welcome, Pope Francis! His Pontiff is welcome in Japan. He believes in nuclear disarmament, and will make a speech in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thats a good thing.

A needed call to peace. 'Blessed are the peacemakers'. I hope and pray the Pope's efforts are successful.

Can’t imagine he’ll be drumming up too many new punters here.
He is not in Japan to drum up new punters.
