Pretty common for this to happen for items sealed with stoppers. Wine is the most obvious example. I'm no medical scientist, but this doesn't seem like a problem.

Me too. But my comment still stands. Sometimes people try to say "absence of proof does not equal proof of absence", which, is true, but it also does not equal proof of existence, which is generally the basis around every conspiracy theory.

Why would you trust Spain to make vaccines? Gosh, aren't they the ones that erased societies from the earth by spreading disease?

People who are not anti vaxx are labelled anti vaxx because they are concerned that vaccines are contaminated!

My 2nd shot was from one of the Moderna lots that had the contaminants. Thought I was headed for that great Torii gate in the sky. But a week or so later, maybe I just crapped it out like the rest of the poison I put in my body, like don quixote cake doughnuts (those things are hard to resist).

Seems the simplest solution is to make the same deal to produce Moderna location as Japan has with AZ.

Unlike Pfizer that refuses to license or manufacture outside it's own facilities.

Moderna like AZ has been quite open to permitting local production.

Japan has a lot of vaccine production capabilities and I don't think it would take long to make the needed changes to quickly start production of Moderna locally.

This does 2 things:

1-) eliminates the reliance on imports.

2-) it give Japan better oversight on quality control.

A win win for Japan.

Its a good thing that close attention is being paid to the quality of the vaccine and if you have someone you care about to be concerned about them receiving a vaccine.

At this point if I get offered Moderna I'll be like nope. No way I want to get that into my body.

People like this, calling anyone who says anything negative about vaccines, true or not, will jump from the tallest building if their religious/political leader ask them. No way you could have a logical discussion with them.

For those going on about this as if it is a huge deal, lets look at it in context.

The 3 vaccines being used in Japan are probably the most scrutinized, checked and double checked of any product that is meant to be injected into a person.

Think of all the times a doctor or dentist has injected something into you.

Have you ever seen a nurse or doctor raise an IV bag up to look for possible contamination? How about when you got a flu shot, a tetanus shot, have you ever seen your dentist check the vial before using it to freeze your mouth?

In most cases they just grab nearest vial or IV bag don't give it a second thought and use it.

Odds are over the years you have had quite a few minor contaminants go into you and you never knew it.

If you are worried about this probably a product far more checked than any other then better avoid getting that next injection at the dentist or the next cortisone shot, etc...

Yes! They found this contamination "during pre-inoculation inspections" thanks to their large size. Clearly, their quality control is extremely poor, or non-existent. Who knows what other smaller garbage is being injected into people's bodies.

Perhaps that might be the reason for the more severe side-effects, but if I recall, the Moderna vaccine has more mRNA (3X ?) than the Pfizer one. So even without any contaminants, these vaccines can still make you very sick or kill you.

Now ask yourself does this level of scrutiny apply to the rest of the injected products you have or will receive in your life?

Does your dentist examine each vial before injecting you to freeze your mouth?

If you have had or will have an IV does the nurse examine the bag before?

Odds are the answer is no.

When I was a paramedic back home we had plenty of "recalls" concerning drugs and especially IV bags most months long after they had been in use.

The manufacturer was extremely sloppy. One person administering the vaccine looked at it closely and found large visible clumps, but even the greatest scrutiny "during pre-inoculation inspections" would miss any smaller contaminants.

Perhaps, Japan should consider receiving license from the foreign vaccine companies to manufacture the vaccine within Japan's borders

The Pfizer Vaccine, vaccine passports, Japan's version of FDA approval and mandates are the way to go in order to win this fight against the Wuhan Virus. This is like the plague and it'll only evolve and get worse if we don't nip it in the bud right now.

Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare had this comment to make.( reported in the Nikkei)

“The ministry said later in the day that the substance that had been mixed in may have been metal. "It's a substance that reacts to magnets," a ministry official said. "It could be metal."

Not likely, moderna is expected to cause more important side-effects, independently of lots, and up to this point there is not "second dose causing death" being corroborated, if you want to offer an explanation for something first you need to corroborate that something.

Its disturbing that having sane, common sense concerns about contaminants in something to be injected into ones body results in ridicule and accusations of being “anti-vax”.

I’ve used medical products past their expiration dates but have always been wary.

Moderna is a company with just one product and had a rocketing share price.

During this pandemic demand for solutions to infection transmission are paramount.

When money is able to flow like water and increase exponentially then what becomes the motivation above all else at the expense of everything else?

I am pro-vaccinations and double-jabbed, but I would be very reluctant to take the Moderna one given its record of contaminants. Now that Japan is producing the AZ vaccine locally they can ensure the quality of this and I would recommend that people go for this one. The early scare stories about it were politically-motivated and have been shown to be nonsense. The Pfizer vaccine is fine too, of course.

Crying like little babies…lol Those few very small rubber parts vaccinated into the upper arm are still nothing compared to those big forgotten scissors or pads during a cancer operation. In other cases the small parts are said to be magnetic, means metallic. That’s also nothing compared to many people having whole bullets or grenade splitters in their body, from crimes or wars. Ban such bigger deadly things first, before throwing away millions of life saving vaccines.
