This goes to show that any attempt by China to take Taiwan by military force is going to have a direct effect on Japan strategically. Possibly the entire region.

China needs to stand down from it's bellicose threats and behavior. Giving the world Covid wasn't enough?

If any of these missiles even accidentally struck a civilian or even a government Japanese vessel, I wonder if Tokyo would take this lying down?

China is having a poopy party.

11 ( +22 / -11 )

No imagine if Japan or the US fired into China's EEZ... what do you think the easily offended thin-skinned CCP would do?

China is war mongering, because it sees an opportunity.

Russia on its side.

USA weak from recent wars.

Biden administration weak.

Now or never.

...and it needs a distraction from the property and banking crisis.

Both sides need to calm the F down. The Chinese response was predictable. Madame Pelosi knew what she was starting.

Go home, Nancy. You must be tired from all this excitement.

The EEZ extends outwards 200 miles from national territory. Taiwan's EEZ and Japan's EEZ overlap east of Taiwan. The Pentagon certainly knows exactly where the missiles landed but they aren't sharing.

I don’t know. Let’s find out. How about some training missiles on the Chinese side of the demarcation line in the Taiwan Strait?

Reciprocity demands that that would be acceptable, right?

The Chinese are blocking international shipping lanes and endangering lives by their aggressive actions.

There needs to be a severe boycott on Chinese goods by the world to show China there are consequences to their actions

China is holding drills around Taiwan to protest U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan earlier this week, including a four-day exercise that began Thursday in six areas encircling the self-governed island.

How quaint. The Chinese have offered a traditional fireworks display to mark the arrival of a foreign visitor!

9 ( +14 / -5 )

Traditional, boring response: Lodge a protest.

Better response: Recover it. Analyse it. Fully document it and publish the details online. Then flog it on ebay as a collectible.

that was the Pelosi objective.Teasing China was the strategy. JAPAN AND US economies are so dark that they need a WAR to reset their debts, what else....

STAY STRONG CHINA!!

Thanks Nancy!

Try the entire word - and more than just strategically. I am old enough to remember when the US shamefully accepted the "one China" policy and sacrificed Taiwan's rights to the most murderous dictator of the century. And now XI is emulating that very same dictator. Like his hero, he is putting an end to China's future. He knows his window of opportunity is closing and he is slowly going to lose support at home. He definitely wants a war and the US (and the rest of the world) had better start preparing.

Just in case you aren't aware, EEZ isn't a territorial water, but an international water where anything can go.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Wonder what that cost ‘em…that’s o.k., the failed real estate companies will pay for it.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I think it’s time for Summer Season fireworks, isn’t it?

Go ahead and lob a few down from Kadena or wherever else…should be interesting.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The drills came in response to Pelosi's visit to Taiwan earlier this week, which has angered China and led to a flare-up in cross-strait tensions.

We all knew it's coming, US wanted it

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

JAPAN AND US economies are so dark that they need a WAR to reset their debts, what else....

China has a debt crisis happen locally and with over $50B in foreign debt that needs different re-payment terms. We've learned that the Chinese economy is tied to real estate speculation in the last few years. Much of those properties are empty, yet new properties are being offered. This cannot continue. Anyone with minimal business knowledge knows this.

Taiwan is extremely close to Okinawa; on a clear day you can see Yonaguni island from Taiwan's northeast coast!

This, boycott Made in China as much as possible!

11 ( +13 / -2 )

we are talking about the lack of Biden meeting transcripts aren’t we?

Off topic.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

China should not fire Dongfeng DF-17 missiles. Don’t let imperial USA get this technology.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

This is China throwing cutlery against the wall because Speaker Pelosi called their bluff.

It’s a tantrum and will soon blow over!

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Lil Xi came closer to Lil Kim,if that were decisions by the Army ,than that dangerous,no military action cannot be approved without Biden, with consent of Pelosi

How I wish Americans would stop arguing among themselves and just lobby pressure request their govt to stop invading other countries and stirring up wars.

But Americans, like most people and peoples, are easily misled and manipulated by whatever the govt wants them to believe.

And so they believe their invasions and wars are righteous

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

China needs to stand down from it's bellicose threats and behavior. Giving the world Covid wasn't enough?

China didn’t threaten anyone that didn’t threaten them first. And regards to your unproven racist remark about Covid, the WHO believes it was bat to animal to human transmission. It was found in the sewage systems six months before Wuhan in France and Italy, and analysis of documents found in the up to 48 USA funded biological weapon research facilities in Ukraine show research was taking place to tag COVID-19 and other viruses to specific races. These are facts. So if you want to lie and go to war with China, good luck mate. Learn Chinese.

You mean like Biden meeting MBS in Saudi?

No, like Putin in Helsinki. But if you want to throw in MBS, sure. We can look at what Don said after the pervy sword dance and the creepy orb photo.

missiles did not land either on taiwanese or japanese territory.

action reaction-did you ever heard about that?

or you have expected that after US provocations China will just sit and will-nothing?

if so you must be or very naive or completely out of picture.

Further proof that the Chinese don't give a damn about others, just like with that uncontrolled space junk that fell out of the sky. They really don't care.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Oh, watch out, such strong words!!

We demand that China stop. Another group of officials will be assembled within a cabinet. And they'll be wondering how this could have happened. There will be a long debate. Then we will say something and yet actually nothing, "This is a grave issue that concerns our country's national security and the safety of the people". As always. Looking into things, press conference, bowing low level official, new childish mascots "do your best in order not to start war".

As always.

China's reaction was however predictable. Although their mental gymnastics are absolutely sensational.

Taiwan is supposedly part of China, as Beijing claims. So the US representative will visit Taiwan, which China considers part of it, and therefore de-facto according to China, the US representative will visit China. And China then, in response, actually points out that the US representative visited part of China, but that it is not actually part of China.

And Beijing is actually showing that it has no control over Taiwan, which it considers part of itself. In other words, that Beijing-China has no control over its territory, over itself.

You can't make that up.

China may be in the 21st century, but mentally-politically they are still somewhere in the late 17th century. They are unable to keep up within this context and communicate other than by flashing their muscles. It is just that from a position of strength, they are instead showing that the (muscular) king is actually naked.

China didn’t threaten anyone that didn’t threaten them first.

Did Taiwan threaten to invade China?

9 ( +12 / -3 )

if so you must be or very naive or completely out of picture.

It was hilarious watching the Chinese social media where people actually believed that China would take down Pelosi’s plane and even arrest her.

That’s not naivety, it’s a bunch of brainwashed idiots who have been denied reality all their lives!,

CCP and Xi the Pooh having tantrums. Change nappies and hand them bottles.

Putting scientific knowledge into real life practice I would strongly recommend a well-known method from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning research and modeling. It’s very useful and called Early stopping.

Did Taiwan threaten to invade China

Taiwan is China you buffoon.

I suggest you read the Taiwanese constitution.

Realize that Taiwan is a self governing province of China that is still engaged in a civil war .

You do Realize what a civil war is i presume.

China won't be invading Taiwan either .

Do countries invaded themselves ? Uh..nope they don't.

Taiwanese government claims to be the rightful government of all China and has not claimed independence.

The USA will not intervene with Chinese one China agenda.

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

Russia on its side. thats true

USA weak from recent wars. why all their resources are now back in the US ready to go, military budget has been decreasing, if China starts a war US will have all its troops and equipment available

Biden administration weak. hes the one that brought the troops home, and fair enough, didnt need to set free 5000 taliban to do it

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Just made a GPS map of Tokyo, with GPS Coordinates,it accurate tested it in Google map

0 ( +2 / -2 )
